MediaTek sets sights on US market, not worried about the chip shortage

Well, after seeing MediaTek got caught red handed about pushing the processor beyond safety limits when detecting there's a benchmark going on, I know for sure that I will never buy a phone with one of their processors.
I'd rather pay a little more for a Qualcomm or an Exynos and not have any regrets or headaches.

Let's GO! See, LG's Velvet series could have literally gone with just MediaTek to drop the prices and that would have sufficed for that series at least. Especially now that the new M02 modem supports mmWave.
Here's hoping this announcement would help HTC or even a new US brand enter with new alternative flagships for the lack-of-options USA.

I've got a Pixel 4a with the 730G (more or less equal to the 720) and is fair enough to get what you want. It's more important the manufacturer's skin's optimization than the chipset itself

AnonD-994853, 21 Apr 2021765G is an trash chip. It is expensive yet only improves up... more765G is a decent chip if you consider that it came out in December 2019. The 720G was 4 months behind. The bigger problem is that Qualcomm announces chips probably for way too high of a price and nobody uses them until they're old and improvements have already come out. Qualcomm also reserves the newest ARM cores for their 800 series for a while. The 690 was announced like 8 months ago and it's only in like 4 phones.

Qualcomm is irreversibly screwed for jacking up prices for so long.
Samsung is going Exynos only soon and will design for Google too.
Oppo is building own chips and may supply Vivo and OnePlus with their SoC.
Xiaomi has intentions of bringing back sirge development, and in which they have said thay ste working in Surve processors and have not stopped development.
In next 2 years landscape will change superfast.
Now MediaTek has set it eyes firmly on US.
