Yup.
My stepfather's S7 edge was used as a clock but was charged all the time. Battery swelled up. Never seen it happen before. Not even on iPhones.

Anonymous, 21 Apr 2021Smart initiative, I like it 1000 euros and more costing light detectors or baby monitors that are about to explode doesn't sound like smart idea.

This is really smart. Better than any no chargers in the box initiatives. This will actual reduce E-Waste

Hope this also covers the damage caused by non-removable bulging and exploding batteries when they are left permanently on the charger. I have been running all sorts of projects on old phones for a long time and almost every battery swelled up after about 2 years. That was when batteries were still replaceable so when the back cover popped off you knew it was ready for replacement. Current devices will simply shatter and break apart when this happens. Thanks Samsung, for encouraging people to burn down their houses instead of making a step towards a better future with less waste. (Owner of Note9, Note 10+ and Note 20 Ultra btw). Lovely phones, but their longevity is questionable at best.
