        Yeah, from what you're describing the only decent /future proof ish options are the vanilla s21 or vanilla iPhone 12. The Xperia 10iii's soc won't return a significant improvement over the one in your pixel, and Sony's implementation of android isn't as slick. (Bought a xperia 5ii in November) If the above options are still more than what you're willing to spend on a phone, I'd hold on to the pixel for longer.

          That's mean apple also cheat, running the chip over the specs.

            700k+ antutu, Even the Snapdragon 865+ released in 2020 couldn't make such a score.

                Mediatek Flies..... There's always room in the flagship market for new manufacturers and Mediatek is fierce in firepower with Snapdragon, it's in a better position than Samsung's exynos 🙌

                    [deleted post]Idk but my Macbook Pro 2018 (4x TB3) runs well anyway. No issues regarding thermals. Only occassionally few apps like MS Word takes too long to boot.

                      Mediatek does make powerful SoCs but let’s not forget the benchmark cheating fiasco that took place last year.

                                  Now, that's impressive, but it still lacks the 8k visual processing level of the Snapdragon 888 which is not that much anyway.

I have the case to buy more expensive things, but a decent mid range phone will do it for me. My main problem is that almost all of the phones that come out are all huge with exception of Pixel, iPhone, Galaxy S, Xperia 5 / 10. Options are very limited and there are few mid range options in this segment. I'll check into Xperia 10 whenever it's released if the price is reasonable.
