If the iPad Pro offers a hybrid solution (macOS when docked to keyboard and iPadOS in tablet mode), I will surely buy it in a heartbeat. For now, let's wait until WWDC 2021 to see what iPad OS (especially, Apple as a whole) has to offer.

Too little to do with ipad pro with my 3 years of experience in it. Even my 10 year old laptop is more useful

iPad Pro will become professional device only after having at lest two thunderbolt/charging ports.

Unless the IpadOS landscape changes, there's no point in making upgrades in raw power which one will hardly ever use.

I see too many PC guys sticking it up to the APPLE GUYS!! I already own M1 macbook air 16GB 1TB and will buy a 12.9 512 GB along with 11 for travelling.. M1 beats hands down all the pc line up except the AMD Ryzen 9 5900X. all the other chips it outcast them!! As a business power user. Apple all day..

No thanks.. an ipad air 5 with 90hz refresh rate will be the hot product in future. This M1 is just overkill.This is clearly targeted towards pro users. An average user don't need such power from an ipad where a basic 300$ ipad or a better ipad air 4 does all the works smoothly.

RobZ, 26 Apr 2021true, but keep in mind that the S7+ is 9 months older than ... moreI have no doubts that the S8+ will come closer, but I am 99% sure it will still be behind M1 iPads but a considerable margin (talking about raw performance).
That said I will for sure like the S8+ more (as I like more the S7+), at least until and IF Apple will allow the MacOs on iPad

So while the S7+ is enough for your needs (and would be for mine too), if comparing only raw performance is very far from the new iPads. The real world usefulness is another matter, and on that I already said I agree with you

Looks like I’ll be sticking with my iPad Pro 2018 a while longer .
M1 in iPad is Encouraging and good apple thinking more that way but iPadOS still has a long way to go

Only way to convince me to buy into this new iPad Pro is if they make it optional, or make a version, to run MacOS. Otherwise is really not that much worth right now.

Where did you get this? The Apple website doesn’t claim this. Only the 2021 12.9" version supports HDR (1000 nits max full-screen brightness; 1600 nits peak brightness (HDR)).

Its more like just fancy tablet for at most editing videos and drawing... EXACTLY what probably 99% of people do on iPad do beside browsing internet and watching videos.
Any tablet no matter if iOS or Android, just lack proper environment for real work.

What's the point of putting a desktop-grade chipset into a tablet that runs iPadOS? it's still iPadOS, not the OS capable of getting productivity stuff done. No thanks, there's no point of this.
