It's apparent that Nokia aims to rival to Pixel 6, and this phone looks promising so far. Yet, I wonder if it can live up to our expectations.

Anonymous, 26 Apr 2021Zeiss does not make lenses for phones. All them are just ... moreYes. Also, lenses will not change their crap image processing software. The 108Mp will be its single all day usable camera and the rest mediocre fillers only to ask an even higher price. It'll be funny how much optical zoom that alleged telephoto camera has.

If they don't delay it, as usual... With a bit of luck we will watch it before the end of the year and have some laughs.

Now this is what we want, a good Pixel competitor (not everyone wants a 8xx SoC)
Maybe a 8.3 successor, just get rid of the chin pls, or slim it down further!!

HMD should do what Nokia would do.
Not act as a spin-off from chinese brand.

Kevinv, 26 Apr 2021If it is similar to an iPhone 11 or 12 I am happy.Low quality edges lenses made in China?

New naming scheme? What for? They are shooting themselves in the foot or something? I just couldn't care less at this point. I think Nokia wasted their return hype by now. Will Bond use this meh?

Vango, 26 Apr 2021Isn't the recently announced 780 the successor to the 765? 780 is the chip media was previously calling 775.
Best of 7xx series so far.
It seems to be between 855 and 865.

But some people want their phones, so let them be. I am using Sony and and Huawei flagships, mostly. But if HMD comes out with something really good (doubtful, though) , i would certainly try. Was Nokia fan back then when Nokia was Nokia. Still having N82, 808 and N9. Using them all too.

Vango, 26 Apr 2021Isn't the recently announced 780 the successor to the 765? Underclocked chips with some defect and/or disabled transistors/area circuits, even cores, in the manufacture process are often sold cheaper and renamed... Cheaper for who buy them... how much ask you is another history, from HMD sure that as expensive as the good ones to pay the Nokia brand and their premium HMD prices.

Q3 2021? More like Q3 2024. It'll be delayed like usual with Nokia phones. So bad.

                                  I am guessing 600-700EUR.
Sadly, I think Nokia and HTC will follow LG, in the near future. Either they are too stubborn, or they just do not understand how the market is right now.

I think it should be the Qualcomm Snapdragon 780G?

This processor has good battery efficiency. In combination with a 6000mAh battery, I expect an endurance of around 130 hours.

Throw in a good Carl Zeiss lens and a price under € 370 and we're off.

This phone will be announce in Q3 2021 with Android 11 (just before the announcement of Android 12) which will be release in Q4 2021 (after the release of Android 12) and it will get Android 12 update somewhere in Q2 2022. On top of all these, they will price this phone at $800. Typical HMD Nokia!

From HMD? Around 750 - 800 euros for that mid-ranger. And still they lack of a good image processing so their cameras will be the less important. I imagine a telephoto cropping or with 1.XX optical zoom and call it lossless Zoom in the Samsung way. Mono loudspeaker and asking near 800 euros for a mid-range phone at the fall of the year... if available.
