Leakster: Xiaomi will be the first to use Samsung's upcoming 200 MP sensor

Rumor has it that the sensor will be 1/1.37" in size and will have 0.64 µm pixels with support for 4-in-1 binning.

Lyndino, 27 Apr 2021Wow, those photo samples have the Samsung killing Xiaomi�... morelol, I can only see Samsung killing all the colours in finer details with hilarious amount of sharpening and (presumably) chroma noise reduction. Mi 11 Ultra and Mate 40 Pro are far more lenient in terms of edge enhancement (though Mi is tad more aggressive on luminance noise reduction than I would like it to be)

The Mi 11 Ultra just isn't resolving the same detail that the Mi 10 Ultra could, which is disappointing given the boost in sensor size. The weird donkey, SpongeBob, the five dollar note, all good examples across the reference image of where is it falling short.

        currently snapdragon 888 can do 80mp with MFNS and ZSL, the next snapdragon should do at 108/120mp. so a good 100/108/120mp camera with 1.12/1.20 um pixel is more preferable then a 200mp low um pixel, even with those computing photography is still not enough because of the not fast ISP for the huge megapixel capture. i Like high res still, it gives you more detail now we need better um instead of giving computational photography to do the heavy lifting

          the trick is to balance um with pixel size, the samsung GN2 can shoort comfortably at 50mp with 1.4u. It may as well be point and shoot at 50mp, the 200mp should be based from samsung GN1, GN1 have same 50mp 1.28 um too

              then the 50mp 1.4um pixel from samsung GN2 should be better! , 50mp at 1.28um hmmm is lower with quality also at 0.64um quality at 200 mp will def be oil painting. Just take a look at redmi note 10 pro or realme 8 pro but this time will be worse at 200mp the isp does not have enough power

The gt neo for example is 200rmb cheaper than the k40 with a better main camera. The Q3 pro is priced similarly to the Redmi note 9 pro with a much better chipset (but weaker main camera). Definitely it is different in different markets with the pricing of brands often being different in different markets

                      Heres the conclusion:

                      The Galaxy, on the other hand, consistently captured more appealing photos that looked sharper, but most importantly with beautiful, rich colors that you instantly like. Add to that the versatility of its zoom cameras and a better performance in video, and it's still our go-to camera phone of the year. Yes, it has a bit of an issue with oversharpening and its tendency to give you vibrant photos sometimes results in photos that look a bit fake, but most of the time, you just get great results with the Galaxy.

                      So yeah beats Iphone 12 Pro Max and the Mi Ultra 11.

In both the Good Light and Low Light samples on this website the S21 is the clear winner. I would be ashamed to think that the Mi 11 Ultra is comparable. Event the Xperia XZ2 is better than the Mi 11 Ultra in these samples.
