[deleted post]I will be very curious to see how this newly released expensive Chinese brands phones will be in the next 2 years.
Up until recently they always had cheaper ones than the competition, so basically people were ok with problems each and there. If this problems will continue to the expensive models, I wonder how will people react in time.
Software is equally important, if not even more important than hardware. Android phones (and especially Chinese brands) have always attracted audience by putting some nice hardware inside a phone, leaving the software as an optional thing. And it was ok, because people would have just change that phone with the updated version in 6-12 months time.
But now, when phones started costing above 1000EUR mark, and people will not be so eagerly to ditch the phone after just 1 year, software has become very important. One bad software update and all that nice hardware will be for nothing.

I am not saying anything bad about Apple, I am just saying that updates aren't exclusive to apple - at least not the useful ones as there is not much to upgrade when it comes to features on Android. iOS has a lot of flaws especially when it comes to battery life, so please stop the glorification.

If some product is free, you are the product.
The fact that you do not directly see the money coming out of your pockets (like when somebody pays for an "overpriced" iPhone), doesn't mean that the other companies are perfect and they think only on their customers.
I would rather pay a little more for an iPhone and then be clear of all the data sharing, ads, bloatware, etc. that you see on pretty much any Android phone (cheap, expensive, doesn't matter). Flexibility and openness of the OS means zero to me, when privacy it at stake.

Remember the recent bug on Android 11 that prevent apps from going full screen that took months to fix? And that stuttering animation from one zoom level on camera to the other? And other software bugs that shouldn't be there in the first place?

But, I am not surprised, these guys will laugh about Apple not giving or taking stuff, but when their companies do the same after some time, they embrace it and accept it (see headphone jack and microsd slot on latest flagships). Worse kind of characters.

... moreAndroid is a maintenance free OS. I got tired of the bugs on iOS which needed constant fixing every time a new version was launched. Why would you want unnecessary updates when everything is working fine?
The whole 5 year update system is overrated and brings nothing new and yeah it does slow down old iphones and causes battery degradation so people go and buy new iPhones.
