Jt, 27 Apr 2021I had 3 updates in 2 months on my S21 Ultra. You're literally missing a point. You Android people always miss the point. Yeah, you get the updates. At what delay? I can bet right now that there is bunch of S21 Ultra users who didn't get the updates you got. Or you actually got them weeks after others already got those same updates. There is no such thing with iOS. If update is out, EVERYONE gets it that same moment. Of course if you manually check for update, but with Android phones, not even that helps as it just doesn't show you there is update. And that's what is really annoying about Android updates. Also you're talking about some Samsung own updates they push out. Wait for Android 12 to be officially released and then count the weeks and months from then till Samsung phones actually start getting Android 12...

It's the reason why I ditched Android and went for iOS. It's degoogled out of the factory with no bootloader unlocking and similar nonsense..

You'd expect them to work just the same as the main phone unlocking. Otherwise, what's the point if phone gets unlocked, but you still need to pull down the mask for banking app? While Apple does many things right, I don't understand why they needed to work on this thing for so long that pandemic has almost ended already and they do it this half baked on top of it? Oh well.

Unlock with Apple Watch is the most anticipated feature for me.
using it for the past 6 hours, and it still hit and miss. sometimes the phone unlocked almost immediately, sometimes I still have to enter the passcode.
hopefully Apple will fix this in future update

oh and it still doesn't support third party app. so my banking app still require my face 😁

I had to deal with this crap for almost a decade on all the Android phones. With iOS, I noticed news the 14.5 update is up and when I opened the updates settings, it was there. And same for the watch. You can look any such news for pretty much ANY Android phone and 3/4 of comments will be "Is it out yet, it doesn't show up for me". Then you have bunch of people who will say they already got it and bunch of others who will be asking for weeks to come when it's even coming. And then it'll be bunch of comments how model X isn't eligible for an update anymore because Y. I can't stress enough how annoying that is with ANY Android phone. And don't get me started how just living in wrong country and having wrong internal model version of the phone can set you back for weeks of additional waiting because of nonsense regional releases. For someone who has never tried iOS and only knows Android, this is just unthinkable thing. To be able to get the update the moment it's released. No "ifs" or "buts". It's always there the moment it's released. And it's freaking amazing experience. Android fanboys can go raving about how Android is million light years ahead of iOS like they always do and I just don't care. iOS is perfectly modern and has enough features and more importantly, it has brilliant support thanks to timely updates. And you get them this way for very long.

AnonD-994147, 27 Apr 2021Yes true, software updates on Android phones are tricky. ... moreGoogle and privacy? 🤣🤣🤣 Never. It will be in your wildest dream that Google do what Apple did on privacy. As soon as I saw the news about the update, I immediately update my iPhone. While my Realme 7 Pro, it's been like 6 months already since the announcement for Realme UI 2.0 with Android 11. Still waiting or it will never happen. Just imagine how much you spent all the money in 5 years changing/buying Android phone so that you can get the latest Android version. That amount of money is either equal or more than a single iPhone. Just my two cents tho.. 😅

The good part is that there are a lot of options on Android, so basically you can just change phones each year. The bad part is that you never get to keep a phone for much time, even if you like that phone, because there is always another model coming or like you said, it just stopped receiving software updates (especially in the case of budget phones).
But for me, privacy is more important than anything, so that is why I am sticking with IOS for now.
Maybe if Google will change their agenda in future (so they will at least give the possibility to opt out). But I doubt, companies like Google or Facebook make their money from data tracking and sharing it with third parties, so they will never implement this in their apps or OS.

That’s what I like about software updates on IOS. Don’t have to wait 3-6 months to receive it, after I saw the initial announcement.
