Any potential benefit in camera quality gets far outweighed by reduced longevity of the device.

As a Samsung fan, it would be for the best if they lost this lawsuit. Not only they will think twice about cheaping out on materials next time, it will hopefully end this idiotic trend of enormous uni-glass camera modules forever (hello Mi 11 Ultra). It doesn't matter what quality that the glass is, the larger area = the higher chance of cracking. Always.

Especially now that they closed their mobile division. The V60 (a flagship phone) is still on Android 10 on non-US version. Only the UW variant got it. Even when it released the V60 had 2 year old tech. Like only a 60hz 1080p screen and UFS 2.1, while the base s20+ or the Xiaomi mi10t had 1440p 120hz screens and UFS3.1 and better cameras. I think that your friend actually never really cared about performance, for your opinion to weigh much.

Your friend would have gotten a 2x better phone for a lower price from Xiaomi probably. Hence why LG went kaputt this year.

When you can replace the s20 back glass with a generic and with better quality for only 20$ cdn you have to ask yourself some questions about samsung. I will return with sony next year.

I remembered a friend of mine considered buying the S20 Ultra last year before he came across this kind of issue on various forum sites. I told him to look at other alternatives with a similar chipset. In the end, he bought an LG V60 alongside its DualScreen case and he was super happy about it. He said to me that he won't be upgrading to any newer flagship-grade smartphones anytime soon.

                        and a another thing
thats the reason im not buying no samsung or iPhone due to these stupid decisions and overpricing all their phones, including the low end phones with crappy 2015 tech (yes, im talking about samsung) while other brands are doing better
oh btw, both of these two slow down their phones and make up and big ol excuse of improving battery, but not, they are doing this so you buy a overpriced phones and take away your money
i learned my lesson not to buy any phones from these companies
my next upgrade is a oneplus

It was an issue reported by numerous people, not by all consumers just some select US customers. It is not a widespread issue. You can not say that it happened because of cheap materials. It could be faulty batches or some manufacturing defects.
There is no product in the market which is completely free from any issue.
So don't feel giddy yet cuz I know you want to.

Considering on release in EU it was 1300-1400 Euros and 512GB variant was 1600 Euros and they still cheap out on materials and build quality.

Samsung should also be sued for using Exynos in India. There exynos is still lagging behind.

Anonymous, 30 Apr 2021Should learn from apple. You are holding it incorrectly. They did. Copied the overpricing and nearly went to 2k if not for the cheap iphone 12 pricings and the SE 2020 but...

Iphone glass back replacements were obscenely priced since whole phone needs to be torn down. But of course society turned a blind eye to that.
