Anonymous, 06 May 2021I can 100% assure you that these guys have never used Xiaom... moreTrue, I own a redmi note 10pro and there were so many people calling bugs and problems especially about ads. When I got the phone I simply removed all the ads and honestly there are no major bugs on this phone just some rare stutters. I don't understand why people were exaggerating that miui 12 is the worst software and an ad menace when the reality is far from it. I understand there is need for polishing but I have seen that most problems are heavily exaggerated at times

I remember days when only Hyundai offered 5 years of warranty and everyone else had only 2 with option to pay up for more. Fast forward and these days everyone offers 5 years. I wonder why is that. Most certainly not out of goodness of their heart, but I suspect Hyundai because such a threat with it they all stepped up. I guess they don't see Apple as big enough threat, but if Android vendor did it, it sure would be.

Simeon, 06 May 2021I can't express good enough my disappointment with Xia... moreI imagine it's easy to optimize and update older phones due to the fact that those phones don't change.

Anonymous, 06 May 2021And what has Android 11 brought to Android 10? And what is ... moreYou have to consider the fact that there are lots of Android OEMs but Apple is in general just competing with itself with much less to worry about. Just imagine even a 2nd company with iOS would deal quite a big blow to Apple so they have the luxury to provide a longer support.

The biggest hindrance to Android getting updates is, believe it or not, Qualcomm.

[deleted post]Except it does. It has a full fledged file/folder manager. Plus it only shows user files and folders, not like Android that throws entire device root at you and then you need to dig through whatever it's there. Maybe that's more powerful, but it's annoying like hell to work with. iOS's approach is simple and clean and just does the job.

When i bough my redmi note 5 pro they promised me 2 android major updates. I got only one. As at first this phone come to china and india with android 8 and when it had global version it was out of the box with 8.1 so we got it only to 9. Then even Miui 12 was promised for my phone even without android 10 but still and then didnt come while it was in the list of phones update. So every phone from 2019 have high chance of not getting any updates more and especially to first half of the 2019 year phones

Android-Authority, 06 May 2021What software support? Apple software is way behind Android... moreAnd what has Android 11 brought to Android 10? And what is Android 12 bringing to Android 11? Not much either.

And just like iOS doesn't bring anything dramatic anymore, it brings things and I like getting them for 5 years. Wouldn't you want the same with Android? Just imagine this, buying phone with Android 10 and getting updates up to Android 14 (they usually count version the phone comes with as 1 update already). And getting all the whatever goodies they bring, be it small or large. Instead, you get what, Android 10 to Android 12 in best possible scenario. Which is usually more like 10 to 11 really with most vendors. And then they just stop. And you can bet Android 13 will bring something just enough cool that people will want it, but they won't be getting it because of the "amazing" updating policy nearly all Android phone makers have.

And if you Android fanatics weren't defending this so much, maybe phone makers would take note and try to do better. I can literally only count Samsung as a single phone maker that at least for higher end models offers longest software support of 3+1. Which is nice, but come on, just bump it up to flat 5 and you'll be killing it. They'd have a single advantage over all other phone makers and chances are, others won't even be able to match it. Samsung makes own Exynos chipsets for which they could easily just develop drivers for 5 years. Where others using Qualcomm and if Qualcomm only offers 3, they can't do anything about it even if they wanted. But hey, I'm just an Apple fanboy for thinking rationally and caring what I get in the long run, not just the moment I buy the phone. And Apple is just better at that. Sorry, but it just is. Samsung being second closest probably. And then something like OnePlus. At least in the past they did offer support for quite long. And after these, it's 99% of everyone else doing strict poor 2 years job.

Anonymous, 06 May 2021haha how quickly people turn from "hehe look at our up... moreLet's discuss the content of these updates.. Shall we? Don't worry I'll spare you the embarrassment.
The gap is so huge.. I'll just leave it you with this..
                                        Android 6.0 > iOS 14.5.

Even budget Android devices are embarrassing iOS in terms of software features and ease of use. Even 10 years into the future, iOS won't have features of Android from 20 years back.
Nobody would miss iOS if it's wiped off the face of the earth tomorrow.
We all know how Job's thermonuclear war on Android went downhill with them ending up copying and playing catchup like a dog.
