So Leica look elsewhere because of Huawei fiasco?
R5 & R6? Looks like a Canon camera naming scheme.

Sharp is just a disgrace, they have all this amazing screen technology
I honestly think they are leaders in screen tech but they have a horrible business sense, their TVs aren't widespread and they can't even make deals with other manufacturers smartphones
And now the market has to settle with lower quality Samsung panels
It's so sad people actually think Samsung makes the best displays, they overhype the e4 panels and none of Samsungs panels can't even come close to sharps IGZO screens in luminance and efficiency

You immediately know what you're watching because everyone in J-dramas are using iPhones and iMacs whilst people in K-dramas use Samsungs. I don't really understand why Japanese don't use phones from local brands such as Sony or Sharp. Or maybe they do and it's just clever product placement by Apple.

There’s no high end flip phones released in Japan for a while, the last one being Fujitsu’s F-01E from like 10 years ago.
For the remaining phone manufacturers, Sony releases their products worldwide. Sharp also releases their high-end smartphones in Taiwan now. The hardware and software may be a different, but not as big as they used to be. Only Fujitsu and Kyocera chooses not to export their high end products, but to be honest, those aren’t competitive products...

is that rumour sony 50mp 1'' sensor? or samsung 50mp sensor like mi 11 ultra? so finally sharp break the rules of quad cameras in smartphones, cause it just have 1 big sensor cam and 1 tof cam.

Sharp makes phones mainly for Japan only. For those that don't know, in Japan you can't go to a store and buy an unlocked phone. You have to go to a carrier like Docomo or SoftBank and make a minimum contract in order to get one. It's sort of a borrowing process. People that visit Japan can rent a phone, while expats have to bring proof from their employer.
They also have different hardware compared to the rest of the world, having a TV module built-in especially for smartphones.
Also, most Japanese people use high-end flip phones because it's a lot easier for them to type with the alphanumeric keys.
What I'm trying to say is that the best of the Japanese smartphones never leave Japan. They are especially made for their market and won't work elsewhere.

Somebody should call Sharp that the curved edges stopped being cool in 2017.
However, HUGE props to Sharp for going for a dual camera sensor. No need to add useless garbage sensors just for the camera count.

Shame about sharp. Once a big business especially in UK, sponsoring Football clubs. Big with their TVs and Microwaves. Now look a brand that is pretty much non existent here

Vikass17, 08 May 2021Nice to see 'no' quad cam setupQuad cam are often poor setup sadly, though Wide + Ultra-Wide + 2 Prime Telephoto are nice.
But really a triple cam is all most need, Wide + Ultra-Wide + Telephoto, with the Telephoto having a real Portrait mode and either the Ultra-Wide or (preferably) the Telephoto who double as a Macro.
But a single camera with a real Zoom lens (continuously variable) that can change the focus depth and distance to offer both Portrait and Macro would be awesome.
Though I think the best would be a single camera sensor and 2 or 3 lenses feeding it, as Zoom have some cons.

Sharp manage to survive as a an Asian region marketer, perhaps HTC should have tried the same, they had their "butterfly" & J ranges, might have worked, except HTC is tiawan based & China is going to interfere..
