Muzik, 09 May 2021So, it means we have to compromise something for something.... morei personally feel that Asus will have 3 models of zenphone 8, flip, pro and mini, all with audiophile grade dac as this is there selling point, i don't think Asus can compete with best cameras tech ( will be decent, just not the best) and thus using other unique selling point, audiophile grade dac would be a great addition, as well as sd card support

I am using my zenfone 5z since 2.5 years without any lag or any problem. Just a minor focus issue with camera that can solved in asus authorised service centre and i can surely say that it can beat all the smartphones comes under its segment even in 2021 also.
I used it very roughly 5 to 7 hours gaming with extreme settings and even with charging but the perfomence is not affected.
And it is very smooth than oneplus 6 which is launched with it.
And the zenfone 8 will be very powerful according to my experience.

Zenfone 6 was a killer phone. camera sucked but phone was great and priced well. With 7, they shot themselves I the foot. Why would I pay high prices for something from asus? hard pass. Next phone I'll probably head back to moto for a reasonable priced phone. Just not into dropping a grand plus for these.

Considering having those features intact eg. 3.5mm jack and FM Reciever Enabled(very rare on other flagship), but still questionable Expandable Storage availability??? And all standard upgrades (SD888, ram, high refresh screen, etc.) just hope they make the price absurd like other overpriced Brands.

hmm, 09 May 2021people are holding their phones in portrait yes but they al... moreReachability and usability of screen is different from holdability and usability of the phone. If it's too wide to hold, I can't even hold it to my ear to talk, not even pull out of my pocket.
And the difference in width may be minor, but it's not the difference that matters its the width. If it's wider than I can hold, it doesn't matter if it's 2mm or 2m. Think about the case that is necessitated by current phones, the case adds more width to your phone, so after a limit, it doesn't matter if it's only 1mm wider.

What I mentioned was that due to 9 being constant with increasing 21 for the same area, the phone becomes compact on the 9 dimension.
This was in response to the OP asking how 21:9 is compact compared to another phone which is bigger width wise, but shorter.
Everyone had their preferences. I prefer a compact phone(overall area), but I can adapt to taller phones than wider phones. Because wide phones will make it harder to hold and do anything on it. I am happy oneui brings down the ui elements so I need not worry about the upper screen most of the time.

There is nothing special with Zenphone 8, just another holed screen chinese phone. Just like xiaomi, oppo one plus, zte
