Anonymous, 13 May 2021Don't do it. Dragon is miles better. It depends...

- no AV1 hardware decoding even on Snapdragon 888, Mediatek brings it on midrange...it means better quality streaming with lower bandwidth. It's a free codec. Qualcomm want to promote h266, it means patents and additionnal fees.
- no 5G carrier aggregation except on SD888. Mediatek brings it on every Dimensity released, even D700. 5G CA is more usefull in most countries. Mmwave will be unavailable in most countries during year's.
- not Bluetooth 5.2 LE Audio full support because Qualcomm want to promote proprietary Aptx instead of standard LC3. Standard means customers protection. Proprietary means customers will be forced to buy phones with Snapdragon and headphones with Qualcomm chipset...it's Apple's methods on Android.

Standards vs proprietary...
Proprietary means risk of anticompetitive behavior.
I don't hesitate, I choose standard!

For exemple Citra : use Citra MMJ instead.

if weak adreno gpu can beat powerfull Mali, then powerfull Adreno gpu by huge margin will surpass mali gpu in open GL optimised things.

It was faster than any Qualcomm mid range 700 chip, Even the snapdragon 765G was slow compared to dimensity 820. It's gaming capability was pretty amazing for a mid range chipset. It could play PUBG at HDR graphic settings even snapdragon 765G couldn't play at that settings.

I am 200% sure, I shall see comments about benchmark instead of what chip offers.

It is POINTLESS to have better benchmark, if another chip offer more features.

Dimensity 900 is the evolution of the Helio G90T, there were no other processors that succeed that one. Not even the Dimensity 800U (which is a glorified 720).

Dimensity 820 already has a succesor. Is called the Dimensity 1100. And hope that makes the Poco F3 GT global since people must try the power of a mid high tier Mediatek processor.

Mediatek > Snapdragon. Change my mind

It's great that Mediatek made an upgrade to the D800 but they need to convince the manufacturers better for using it. The availability is limited and it's been like an year. D820 is only present in two different phones while D800, six. Compare that to Snapdragon 765G, it's everywhere. I keep seeing 800U, 720 and 700 which are slightly inferior.

It's weird how they went back to 2 big ARM cores while Qualcomm went with 4. Expected GPU perf is 20% better than G57 so it should be beneath Adreno 642 which is still respectable.

GPU score on SD780 is around 160.000 (for a total of 520.000)
GPU score on D820 is around 135.000 (for a total of 450.000)...around -10% only.
D900 should score a little better than D820.

                                  Difference won't be that huge.
