Pubg's settings are very dependant on the amount of shaders on the GPU, even though the gpu of dimensity had 4 execution cores, it still has less amount of shaders at a total of around 200 when compared to adreno 620's 500 shader count, this affects the amounts of task that can be executed at once but will not affect performance.

Next time you wanna compare something you should actually test it and not just a based statement

    Good midrange chipset. Hope MediaTek give updated driver support for all these chipsets

          I am all excited about the 6nm Mediatek chipset in mid-range and the kind of gaming performance at the low cost. Sounds really interesting.

            ARM was thinking right way. G7X series GPUs are designed to use many cores at once and G5X series GPUs are designed to use less core as they are intended for cheap SoC.

              P C M, 16 May 2021G80 has very weak GPU. Yes true, very weak GPU...
              Even if there's a crazy thing : G52 is more powerfull than G72. ARM is mad!
              I will explain :
              G72 is bifrost 2nd gen. Execution unit has 4 lanes and you've got 3 execution units per core. That makes 12 lanes per core.
              G52 is bifrost 3rd gen. Execution unit has 8 lanes and you've got 2 execution units per core (2EE, Kirin even use G52 with 3EE). That makes 16 lanes per core.
              It's not only theory, it's the case IRL. Due to higher frequency, you will be able to get better framerates on a G80 with G52mp2 than P60 with G72mp3

              G80's GPU is still better than the ones on SD660/662/665 (P60 is weaker than those)...G80's GPU itself is maybe even better than the one on 678...

              If you compare to G90T, GPU on G80 is maybe 2.5 time weaker
              But some emulators work (not all)

                  Older Mali T880mp4 on Helio X20 : 45fps on Digimon...older GPU, and only 4 cores
                  Newer G71mp20 on Exynos 8895 : only 15fps...newer GPU, 20 cores...third the framerate with a GPU that should be about 4 time better (difficult to say exactly, as Bifrost is very different compare to Midgard)
                  Absolutely crazy!
                  9810 on S9 may have the same problem.

                  It seems judging Mali on the basis of Emulators on Exynos is a mistake. Don't you think so?

                      I just run it on Redmi Note 8 Pro...
                      Helio G90T uses Mali G76mp4...
                      Galaxy S9 uses Mali G72mp18...
                      G76 is twice more powerfull than G72 (8 lanes per execution unit instead of for)
                      So G72mp18 should be at least twice better than G76mp4.

                      I activate Dual-core, Vulkan, set display to stretch (full screen), activate dual-cores, set CPU to unlimited (0%)...
                      On first race, I'm most time around 33fps, with few falls to 25 and some peaks to 47

                      G77mp9 on Dimensity 1200 should be at least 2.5x better

                        i searched everywhere for dimensity with that game but no reviewer test it.

                        many youtubers nowadays they car for views and ad revenue, they will test F-Zero GX with highend phones but they wont test it with midrange, btw even sd 732G struggle to run that game and many reviewers say sd 732G run dolphin fine.

                          Full emulators review on GT NEO (Dimensity 1200).
                          Many games are more than ok, running in 2k or even 4k...

                          Like you said, PS2 is the more problematic...but it seems power is enough.

                            In my opinion, you can expect around 35/40% lower FPS compare to 1200

Most games are playable ... moreYes am talking on latest version, and 3ds by nature is weak console, it's just handheld that's why you see development goes fast, ps2 is older console but very difficult to emulate that's why development goes slow.

                              You have dimensity phone there is few games I can suggest to test.

                                mediatek recently brings us lots of performance chipsets, but not stable. i can't believe that the dimensity 1200 chipset crash when i play life is strange at chapter 4! it is a lightweight game for this performance chipset. and some games such as wildrift is sometimes drops fps, especially when having a massive combat with lots of effects, but it is much better than the exynos2100 and kirin9000. genshin impact works but i must lower the effect setting. maybe the dimensity 900 can work better than that with 6nm.

                                  Most games are playable at X2 or X3 even on a Dimensity 800U since about two months.
                                  Still a few bugs on some...
                                  A Dimensity 720 is enough to destroy SD678.
                                  You can even play games on Helio G80 with the tiny Mali G52mp2!

                                  Emulators were developped nearly exclusively on Snapdragon since years.
                                  Citra MMJ starts only maybe 1 and a half year ago...improvements are amazing in a short time.

                                      most youtube reviewers they choose easy to emulate games thats why you dont see true story, some games are not playable at all even with mmj/mmjr.

                                        new mediatek soc are good, they have enough power for average joe and they are efficient too, so good battery life, but those who are resposible for mali they dont bother to update drivers, so no need to recomend these soc for gaming.
