YUKI93, 17 May 2021Lol, you clearly didn't bother to do more research. So... moreBoth the S20 and S21 series camera are cheaper in cost compared to larger more advanced sensors like imx 766, imx 700, imx 689,imx 789, etc

Swarley1, 17 May 2021Wrong, in some countries warranty gets void when modifying... moreDefinitely agree with you. That is why I always stay out from messing around with a brand new phone under warranty for the fear of voided warranty of which always happens here in Malaysia.

Would I port a GCam mod into the Mi 11 Ultra? Absolutely, in a heartbeat. The stock Camera software processing is a big NO-NO for me! And let's not forget with GCam mods are super popular with Xiaomi phones, just like custom ROM support.

Sony's main camera sensor is the same type that Samsung use on the main camera of the S21 and S21+ alongside the S20 and S20+. That really shows your true ignorance.

My mum never even bothers to do that kind of thing in the first place, so OS update is the only chance for me to play with the phone's UI optimization and it really doesn't disappoint.

Even Huawei not with Leica anymore, Huawei had saved all the hardware and software portofolio from Leica since P9 to Mate40, that's why there are NO need exclusive contract anymore, since the brand can save all the data from the released phone, and use it next time for developing another camera phone without need to pay Leica anymore

People who hav... moreHuawei offers really good hardware for a very low price tag, for the vast majority of users, this is literally a decisive point for pulling the trigger on a purchase. P40 Lite is a big example for this ($150 phone).
Xiaomi also offers pretty low price tags however their camera performance is sub-par even on high-end models, so if this partnership can fix that, we will have an actual replacement for Huawei.

Anonymous, 17 May 2021I've been a retailer for 10 plus years.
Xiaomi has no... moreI am not from USA thou. I live in an European country.
Also, I had 3 Xiaomi phones (among other phones), 1 that I own right now. Redmi Note 8 Pro, Poco X3 NFC and Poco F3.
I am not a Xiaomi hater and I do not speak for all Xiaomi phones, but I speak from personal experience. Of course, people might argue that I can't talk about Xiaomi phones, because I didn't owned a Mi 10 Ultra or a Mi 11 models for example. But, you don't need only flagship phones to talk about a company phones. Besides, on flagship phones everything runs smooth and perfectly.
Redmi Note 8 Pro was a decent phone, until I made the Android 10 update. After that I experienced connection problems (network and bluetooth problems). Also, some small lag (in transitions, animations inside MiUi). I didn't had any of those problems with Android 9 (the one who came initially in the phone).
Poco X3 NFC was actually a nice phone all around (for the price). I didn't liked the display thou (quality wise, not good for movies). Also a lot of ads (but those I manually disabled; took me some time thou, because I entered in each app to do it). More ads than on the Redmi Note 8 Pro or Poco F3 for example, I don't know why. I had only global versions phones.
Poco F3 is a power beast (I bought it as a secondary phone, to test the SD870 chipset). Sadly, I experience some heating during charging. Also I have green tint issues in about 30% of the display (when I am in dark areas or at night and I have the screen brightness at lower levels). Also, I experience some small stutters each and there when using the phone for longer time or for heavy stuff. But I think this issues could be corrected with future updates. If not, sold and next phone.

Anonymous, 17 May 2021Why did people choose Xiaomi? Why not Samsung or Apple or O... moreBecause it was the easier choice to be made. People who have bought Huawei before, had chosen Huawei over Samsung and Apple already.
Also, don't compare India with the rest of the world. India have chosen Xiaomi over other brands. The only thing India has is a very large population, that's why Xiaomi numbers have increased worldwide too.
And if I am not mistaken in China, Oppo (and BBK in general) are doing much better.
