A leakster suggests the chipset is really in the making.

Even the S845 blows this crappie S7 S7 series out off water.

Which muppet will buy this over any S845, S855?

Solarus, 17 May 2021Qualcom need a new name system. agree

Qualcom need a new name system.

"Qualcomm introduced a new 7-series chipset, the Snapdragon 780G (model number SM7350). However, the San Diego chip company is working on a slightly downgraded project with model number SM7325 and a rumored name Snapdragon 775G."

Sounds like a direct replacement to the 765G to me, especially if the 775G uses the same 7nm die fabrication as the 765G.

Even the OnePlus 9 Pro does better with GCam, is that one a low end phone too?

Anonymous, 17 May 2021I really doubt what you're claiming. Gcam ports taking... moreI can tell you haven't used a really good GCam port...
Whenever it's a Samsung, OnePlus, Xiaomi, ASUS phone, it's usually doing better with GCam except for videos and sometimes night mode.

JoXim, 17 May 2021Don't know how this article turned out to be a GCam po... moreOn top of that, Huawei's high end phones haven't got a proper Camera2API support since P20 series.. I highly doubt Honor will change their route regarding the 3rd party camera app support.

-Low end and most of midrange phones...100 % yes for GCam. And that is for photos, not videos.
-Upper midrange segment...Maybe, just maybe for the low light shots.
-Everything above...There is no need whatsoever.

Rkm, 17 May 2021Would love to see gcam running on huawei hardware and know ... moreI had an Honor 7X (Kirin 659) and I managed to install the GCam, and it was a huge upgrade in night time photos, as it was taking very poor images at low light by default. To get the GCam I just installed different versions till I managed to get one working well, there were some for Kirin chipsets iirc

Gcam ports taking... moreThe gcam on my Xiaomi phones takes better pics most of the time though, there are certain scenarios where the gcam totally bungle it so i guess it's not as optimized as much but on the whole it does. I always open the gcam app to take photos, only if the result is unsatisfactory then i'll switch to stock. Not sure how well it works with other phones. The night sight is a whole new level, it ALWAYS takes better photos.

There are more, but those 3 are friends who talk about that stuff. What I said is true, but our nerdy geeky background may have something to do with it :-) . But oneplus's stock cam is garbage. Just google it or telegram 'oneplus gcam' and you can know it if you want.
I know photography can be subjective, but less artifacts and overprocessing is good right? In case of s20fe 5g, colors and white balance where OK with stock but details were having that overprocessed look, whereas gcam had somewhat natural rendering. Again we do like to nerd out about it and compare to actual cameras with primes. So as you said it maybe subjective, but probably right too.

[deleted post]First time Sharp produce such a high end phone. And that 1" camera lens, Leica Summicron, definitely a fixed aperture at f2.0. I wonder what the FL is, hopefully a 28mm or 35mm. ToF is a nice addition.

Edit: Just found out its at f1.9 (weird, Summicron codename never used below f2.0, it should Summilux). Surprisingly a single 19mm FL. Another weird choice.

Rkm, 17 May 2021I mean it does give consistently better results in s20fe 5g... moreI really doubt what you're claiming. Gcam ports taking better pics than the stock app when the stock app has been optimised to work with the phone's cameras? I think it's your own subjective opinion that the gcam port is taking better pics. Or everyone you know who owns a OnePlus phone has a gcam port installed in their phone? Really, how many people with OnePlus phones do you know?
