Almost every oneplus user I know (the highest being 8 pro) uses gcam because their camera sw is manure.
The key is in consistency. Also most stock cams (even flagships) overcook their photos. If you like that look, it's fine but a lot don't.
So gcam ports aren't rubbish.

Sure, they may have helped with budget hardware released 2 years ago but they're not going to help in recent phones which have better camera hardware than the Pixels themselves.

Easier to deal with, more light sensitive.

Price is key. The v30 series was great but the v40 line up was disappointing for the price. Now that they are out on their own it will be interesting to see if they stick with this high price strategy or go back to their roots where they were a strong competitor with Redmi pricewise.

Since it runs Snapdragon you would be able to run gcam ports on it and we would be able to compare them to stock huawei sw.

They have the latest hardware every year unlike Google so its hard to tell but from the reviews, its actually not that great cos occasionally it has that yellowish tint. But they are good with the low light though it feels that it's mainly due to the hardware. Wonder if they are continuing with Leica since their contract with them is ending

Would love to see gcam running on huawei hardware and know which software is actually superior. Huawei has caught up a lot or even surpassed google in some areas of image processing.
