Sharp Aquos R6 debuts with 240Hz screen and enormous 1” sensor

It is the biggest camera sensor put in a mobile phone ever.

A few of you remember some of the old sharps from earlier that had high res screens in 2003/4,there were also the P series from sony/Ericsson that also had very good resolution screens.
This sharp sounds interesting, as do quite a few japan only devices, HTC used to do their J and butterfly series for Japan only, the butterfly 2 was nice, a work mate had one imported into uk, he has still got it as a collectors piece, has the box and all its bits still.
Bigger sensor allows bigger lens, which can use more light, more light equals better pictures, less post processing needed, but I'll bet my 10 year old little pocket Leica V-lux 40 takes better pics still, but folk are willing to do to their eyes the same as they are with their ears, ruin them with low quality noise from buds/headphones etc, most wouldn't know a realy good hi fi if they heard one, all these over processed phone camera pics are doing the same to folks eyes, modern generations seem willing to be sold crap at any price level, in the past, we demanded much better if we paid lots, and makers listened to their users and buyers, these days you get given a choice of compromises, which ones are you willing to live with ?

And with modern lens designs I doubt you would have any distortion, Leica esp wouldn't throw their branding around if they thought it would distort on the lens.

                      Please do tell Mr.reasearch.

On 2nd note, the sensor is huge, meaning it can gather more light that your average smartphone sensor. Meaning bright photos even in low light.

On 3d note, the depth of field will probably be awesome because again, the sensor is huge.

So mr.reasearch.. do that research sweetheart

Apart from the fact that large sensors are completely overrated, not all 1" type sensors have a good high Iso noise performance. I looked at dpreview's studio comparison and the raw files of a Sony Rx100 VII, Rx10 IV or Panasonic Lx10 have a much worse high Iso noise performance than the 1" type sensor of the Canon G5x II. The 1" type sensor of the G5x II seems to be approximately 1 stop less noisy. So it's possible that this 115mm² sensor behaves more like a modern 60mm² sensor regarding noise at high Iso equivalent exposures.

Actually the OnePlus 9 doesn't have OIS at all, that's probably why it has micro jitters, it's very noticeable around street lamps and artificial light sources.
