Downloaded it on my pixel 4a, pretty beautiful and smooth. No issues so far and the apps are working.

nanagdad, 18 May 2021The notification menu looks more like MIUI 12 Wtf really. G... moreAs a daily MIUI user no it does not

Considering I've been on 8.1 for the last 3 years, I'm indifferent to this. Lol. Nova launcher can help fix some of the looks here for me so I don't care.

Wow the lock screen clock is a direct copy from the Xperia Z1 back in 2013 running Android 4.2 but I still love it.

Very very beautiful. love those animations and love this stock look. This makes the Pixel look very appealing imo

            Ok Google .

Other than notification area, everything else is the same?

Maybe I'll have to move to MIUI to get a more stock-like experience. The quick settings are similar to MIUI 12's "control centre", but at least you can turn that feature off in MIUI.

I was thinking the Asus ZenFone 8 was awesome with its stock UI and I love my Pixel 4a 5G. However, perhaps I'll pray that Realme gets its act together and releases a decent phone, as its UI is the best non-stock option I've experienced.

More geeky crap from the imbeciles at Google who wouldn't know an intuitive UX if it hit them over the head with a shovel. Not that iOS is any better, just fed up with all the endless tinkering with Android that hasn't really improved much over the last few years.

Kingslayer, 19 May 2021I prefer Android over iOS and may just go back using either... morefinally someone noticed google emphasizing widgets all of a sudden 😉

google forgot about and left behind widgets and custom themes for so long that many dont even use them now despite being one of the literal best things about android and all of a sudden once iOS gets these 2 features google goes back to them 🤔

                    Favorite Android Versions
                    1. Pie
                    2. Nougat
                    3. Marshmallow
                    4. KitKat
                    5. Ice Cream Sandwich
                    6. Jelly Bean
                    7. Lollipop
                    8. Gingerbread

I didn't include Oreo and 10 because I only used them briefly. I just remember both killing my battery by about 15% even after a fresh restore on my Pixel 1 and 3 It's the reason why I never update. I think updating is overrated but iPhone fans keeps bragging about them.

I thought 10 gave me the worse experience because it broke QuickPic, ES File Explorer, and Viber. But the worst of it is my Call Blacklist stopped working. Got spam calls all the time. I plan to use Pie forever if KitKat from 2013 can still run new games like Mario Kart Circuit.

I prefer Android over iOS and may just go back using either my Essential Phone or Pixel 3 as my daily driver again but I don't like this design language at all. I wasn't a fan of Android 10. My favorite version is actually Android 9 with Pie. Didn't break my old apps.

It's trying to copy iOS14 with more emphasis on widgets which they've had for over a decade already. I don't like the shapes and color palette. Hope it's remedied by the time I get another Pixel which could take 4 more years by Pixel 10 and Android 16 if Pixels still exists.

I hope next time Google make 2 versions of the interface. This one call interface x/Venus because have pastel color, rounded icons, etc and interface y/Mars which opposite like bold color, boxy/sharp icons, etc.

                          "Material You"

Lol that's a funny name for a UI. Also they should just completely drop the material moniker, as this UI pretty much has nothing to do with the old material design. It's a disgrace to call this "material".

I am very angry at this time, because the pixel device is not officially available in my country

Look how round the notification panels are, it's so hideous.

They also should be looking forward to that day, sometime in late 2023 at the least, when more than one in 10 of them get to actually experience Android 12 and it's goodness.

Sonu4678, 18 May 2021Again, No qualitative changes No new features Nothing ... moreActually feature parity between the two was achieved some time ago, roughly speaking at least, there will never be an exact match.

Where they differ now is mainly in ui functionality and customizability.

Looks like designg used ages ago in Mi (or whatever the name was) firmwares, but pictures in background.
Thats no inovation, thats iteration, no amount on philosophy to back it up will make is innovative in any way

It is so good and polished. I will stick with android forever. No iOS for me. People who say you can't afford as iPhone or never used one are lying. I've used both.
