Interesting. This will be attractive for me.
I can imagine, I charged my phone from under 20% battery life for example, I go to take shower 10 minutes for example. After finish, I saw my phone, it is 100%. Ap, unplug it, and go for leissure or working or going ot outside.
8 minutes finish charging maybe can be useful. Maybe... It is not a must, but maybe usefull for you who you're gaming mobile player. When your phone is low battery. You said to tout friend, "Wait for me for 8 minutes, I charged my phone first. " After 8 minutes, your phone is in full power batter life 100%, then you can say "You ready?" And the moba game is fighting again.

Anonymous, 01 Jun 2021100% sure you are using some phone with modest below 30W ch... moreI am switching between a Galaxy S21 and a Poco F3 nowadays. Both charge in similar times (around 60 minutes). The Poco I am using more for gaming, because it has a better battery life than the S21.
I had in the past 65W phones (One Plus 8T and Realme 7 Pro). They each charged in about 40 minutes. Which for me is ok. That's why I said, the sweet spot for me is 30-65W.
For me is more important the battery life, than the battery charging speeds.
Poco F3 is one of the best phones I had recently, when it comes to a nice balance between battery life, battery charging speeds and price I paid for it.
If they will make an Oled display phone with 65W charging speeds, 120Hz refresh rate, 6000mah battery, powerful chipset and decent price (around 400-500EUR), I will buy it in an instant (no matter the brand). Sadly, there isn't such a phone on the market. Like I said, Poco F3 is the closest I could find. It has other minuses of course, but is good phone.

"battery degradations with fast chargers are non existent."
Not true. Shown in the androidauthority article.
"they only degrade when used a lot, or for years."
They still degrade faster than the slower ones, again as show in the same article
"fast chargers don't degrade battery, keep your mysterious myths to yourself"
Not a myth at all, claimed by the company themselves.
Now lets get to your point - "It said fully charge and discharge. If before your phone dead you charge your phone to about 80-95%, then it is basically non existence."
Sure it would definitely be better then, but whats your definition of 'nonexistent' in percentages? Who has tested this? You?

Anonymous, 01 Jun 2021Bbk owns xaiomi BBK is Oppo,Vivo, and One+ parent corp. Xiaomi is separate corp.
Hell, BBK build RealMe brand as direct competitor of Xiaomi.
And yes, personally as long as it able to charge 5000mAh under an hour, i'd prefer the rest of the tech to focus on preservation of the physical battery life.
There is no point going full 0 to 100 under 10 minute, but it will retain only 50% of its battery life within 2 year.
That being said Sony manage to do 20~30 watt while keeping the Qnovo certification (less than 5% battery life loss per year)
so maybe we could get 120watt charging and still retain the Qnovo certification in the short future.

Gimmick imo. After a certain number, is just for marketing purposes.
Doesn't matter if it's good for battery or not, I don't care, I never use a phone for more than 6 months anyway. But, is just isn't necessary at this point. 30-65W is the sweet spot for me. Period.
I mean 8 minutes for what? I need 30-45 minutes to do my morning routines anyway (in which time the phone can charge), so I don't need an 8 minutes charger.

At most the battery will last 200 - 250 cycles before degrading really badly provided it doesnt explode before that.
