Not sure why anyone would want to use that potential trojan horse/giant backdoor Operating System(OS) :-)

Yes, all mobile platforms do some spying i.e. Apple, Google etc. But, I would take my chances with Apple or Google over the Chinese Communist Party(CCP) government potentially spying on me.

Unquestionably Huawei makes some nice smartphones(beautiful in some cases). The problem is, you just don't know how tightly coupled Huawei is with the CCP.

To date, the CCP is not a good world player. So I frankly I don't want to support the CCP in any way. I enjoyed the Huawei products I had in the past. But, I just can't support any company that's in bed with the CCP.

HarmonyOS is a most ambitious path for Huawei to follow. It takes aim at the entire IoT industry, not just smartphones. The underlying micro-kernel-based distributed architecture is a huge break from Android/Linux. Many posters here are ignorant about Huawei's long-term plan. HarmonyOS is still a work-in-progress. They've released a minimum viable product with residual hooks to Android's middleware and UI, but over time, they will undoubtedly replace these with new subsystems. I expect a certain degree of Android compatibility so that existing Android apps can run on it. I wouldn't be surprised if Huawei invites Android app developers to upload their apps to Huawei's own app store.

Harmony is Android and Linux wrapped in a Huawei user interface. Nothing to see here folks. Move along.

no shame in saying that HarmonyOS 2.0 for phones/tablets, as it currently stands, is a fork of Android. all Huawei has to do is to ADMIT it.

And Apple is ve... moreThat doesn't change the fact that Apple still asks for a passport to some developers whenever they have found it necessary. It could be simply that Huawei is just enforcing a much stricter identification process to keep malicious app developers out of their platform, and it's not nice to see a writer of a TECH website fear-mongering about it when he/she is about to review a certain product - whether it was supposed to be a little joke or not - it immediately shows his/her very personal political bias and reduces the credibility of the entire report as a result.

"Not exactly the case with Huwaei."
Sue them in outside China and you'll definitely see a judgement being enforced.

I don't care how they implemented it or how they're gonna carry it out and maintain it. Im never buying a Chinese brand phone and especially that has more stakes from the country's political party. Simply no trust left. Im all good with a low end or basic samsung phone lol.

Yes, if they had been working for it longer than 4 months. What would you make you think that they started building the SDK specific to Harmony apps right after they released the Android SDK?

There are already apps NATIVE to HarmonyOS (Youku, Sina News and CCTV Video) - albeit only included in the developer beta 3 of HOS 2.0 so far. I suggest you to take a look at a few Chinese news articles through Google translate like I did.
