You can't integrate them unless you are willing to upgrade their hardware wholesale basis across devices. Why do we need Apple TV hardware to watch Amazonprime or Netflix or Hotstar Disney? Another wire, another HDMI, another remote.....rightnow Android TVs coming with all these inbuilt. I can integrate HDMI 2.1 with any Dolby Atmos capable soundsystem and stream whichever Music, watch whatever 4K content from Apps. Apple ecosystem becoming irrelevant and inconvenient at best.

Anonymous, 09 Jun 2021Look at the guy he replied to... Clearly claiming support f... moreNo, the math is right. Apple continues to patch old devices with important security updates for two years after the devices are officially dropped from the newest iOS branch.

So assuming the original SE and 6s are dropped with iOS 16 next year, Apple will continue backporting patches for zero-days and major vulnerabilities for another two years to those devices. Which would take those phones to 2024, a full nine years after original release.

Users of these phones would still be reasonably secure, even if they aren't getting the newest feature set of iOS 16, 17, and 18.

Anonymous, 09 Jun 2021One can seamlessly connect a physical keyboard to Android, ... moreAnd why would one so desperately need a keyboard of any kind on a mobile device like smartphone to make a key feature out of it? If you need to type so much you'll get a laptop. For everything else, you can type damn fast and accurately using touch keyboard on any phone. I just can't imagine why would one type faster on a physical keyboard compared to touch one if display size and touch feedback is accurate enough (meaning keys are sized just right on said display and phone gives reliable feedback of touch). I just don't see it why it would be that relevant. And if you really need such feature you'll just go with Samsung because of it's DeX functionality or something. It's a very specific need for a feature I'd say.

Well, we don't know that, because nobody has ever supported a phone for 9 years. You kind of just made that up because you don't like iPhones, for whatever reason.

In reality, we rolled out about 40,000 iPhone 6s's back in 2016. We have only needed to update the batteries, about $10/phone because we did it in bulk. This has been great for us not having to do another procurement order. We will probably move the organization to the iPhone SE3 when it comes out.

[deleted post]Clearly you aren't one of the informed ones because the hack was not done on either iOS or Apple's servers. It was done through phishing attack where users were the ones who were compromised, giving out login data which was then used by attackers to gain access to their photos. After that mandatory 2FA authentication was introduced as second layer of protection.

And they always excuse it with "you get security updates as app updates". I can always be sure that's true with full OS updates. Can you be for app updates? How can one be so sure GooglePlay and WebView update will actually also update device with security update? Usually that's just not the case and an actual security update must be issued as part of "full" update to the device. And if Samsung, Xiaomi or whatever vendor doesn't do that, you're not getting any security updates either.

Amazon, Netflix, Microsoft are also ahead of Apple. Right now Apple is into many things and therefore their overall Software is very very limited. Their idea of milking their 30% through AppStore is precisely due to this reason. All their ecosystem BS and advantage is falling through (few examples:- Apple Music, iCloud, HomePod, Apple TV). Even their own iWork is not being an useful tool.
