    Harmony is offered under open sources, as such, anyone can pick it up and compile it for their own products.

      Great news for the face saving exercise. Imagine the smell in the motherland if china could not even make a clone cope of Android and call it its own?

        now they should allow bootloader unlocking to developers and it will add more users to Huawei.

Depending on what apps will be available - I like to read science, politic, nature news, watch youtube or the same quality others, use maps and blah, blah, blah. And if a photo camera will be best to compare with the rest competitors - then I will move to Harmony OS. I hate the New World Order product - GOOGLE.

Based off of an AOSP paltform but with HarmonyOS specific additions for the smartphone side of things and seamless integration with other HarmonyOS (non-AOSP platforms), the only two consumer facing parts that are missing are a YouTube alternative and a Gmail alternative. Porting to HarmonyOS is rumoured to be a relatively painless process.

                      Given that a lot of people are becoming angry with YouTube policies, the service is ripe for a global challenger. Petalmail is already in the pipeline, too.

                      The pieces are falling into place for Huawei and getting updated at lightning speed. Just look at how far HMS Core has come.

                          I knew this will be a cake walk for them. I don't think people understand how much the world loves Huawei products. There is a reason why they shot past Google, Apple etc to get to second spot behind Samsung.

                              I've worked in one of the biggest car parts manufacturing factories, and guess what,
                              car radio with made in Germany sticker
                              on the inside almost all parts were imported from china. nothing changes except the label on the product.
                              so not buying products made in china solves nothing.

                                  If Harmony OS gains 300 million customers, it will also mean Android and Apple OS will lose close to these numbers, resulting in loss of advertising revenue, etc, in their software businesses.
