Slow chargers will always help the battery to keep a longer life than using fast chargers. That's an old fact!

I have a Xiaomi Mi 9T which has never exceeded 39° C either when in use or by charging, in fact it very rarely goes above 35° C as I've installed a battery monitor to remind me when it reaches 35°. I've had it for 2 years and am expecting to see some degree of degradation, and there probably is, it's just that I can't see or measure it. Heat is the biggest enemy of a battery and anyone with any sense will install something that reminds them when it gets to a temperature set by the owner.

YUKI93, 12 Jun 2021Either big battery or great battery optimization or both of them.Charging a 5000 or 6000 mAh battery to 80% and discharging them to 20% is like using 60% of the batteries, wouldn't last me 2 days, and I'll have to look after the phone like it's a child, no thanks.

Lol, but they are using 18W chargers on their phones.
With very few exceptions, only a handful of models have more than 65W chargers nowadays.
This is just pure propaganda from Xiaomi and their fanboys are applauding like it's some kind of ccp speech. Lol.

Carol, 12 Jun 2021You make it sound like nothing, but it ain"t true. 200... moreThose are arguably only lab battery tests, and not independent at it. In 2 yrs time of real life use, one must add component aging and ram/rom software blogging to battery percentage hit. So actually, "real feel" after 2 yrs using those chargers, would be closer to some 40% loss on daily batterylife.
That is called junk tech in my book.
Some people will claim that being "reasonable" tho...
Dont understand what is reasonable about cashing out 1200+ $ for that kind of battery "performance".

Anonymous, 11 Jun 2021Have you used very gently, Because how is that possible tha... moreWill be more precise.
I tested out batteryhealth on my device with qnovos batterycare tech (LG and Sony phones), after 3 yrs of use (used it alltogether 3yr 8mths). Bought the device in march 2017, tested it out in april 2020.
The test app measured batteryhealth for a week, it rised from 89% to 91% healthy in that time. I didnt test it after the additional 8 mths, but I deduct batteryhealth would be about 88% to 90% in the end.
Thats with slow charging every day, mostly during sleeptime, sometimes even twice a day (that would account for about 1400 charge cycles).
One of the reason I bought the device was qnovo batterycare tech inside....and it turned out to be exactly what it said it was, a long term battery health preservation technology.

Anonymous, 12 Jun 2021Looks like you didn't read the article probably.... He... moreYou make it sound like nothing, but it ain"t true. 200w charger will just deteriorate the battery while charging as the battery is way to small and the technology is forced to be what it is not. Lithium at those sizes is not made for that, even if they had 4 batteries that charge at 50w each, will stil deteriorate much faster then a normaly charged battery. And nope, to implement insane charging speeds is not something expensive or even remotly inovative to do, as some here seem to think, it is just a gimmik that makes more garbage in the world in an era where we try to save it.

Anonymous, 12 Jun 2021Looks like you didn't read the article probably.... He... moreThat worrying is contradicting itself. The more energy you cram into a time frame, the more excess energy you get. That is how real physics works. Therefore, temperatures won't stay the same if you incrementally increase the energy input. In fact it'll most likely increase incrementally on top of that.
20% is a theoretical lab number, disjointed conclusions by gadget blog batistas doesn't change that.
