Anonymous, 12 Jun 2021Lmfao why is the iPad mini still a thing when phones these ... moreThe are not even close to being the same size, aspect ratio alone gives a MUCH bigger footprint and that’s before the fact that this is probably going to be 8.4” vs 6.8” for a phone with super narrow aspect ratio, plus these sized tablets are used for a multitude of educational and retail and hospitality sectors, it’s also much easier to read books on this size then it is on a phone, just because you can’t see outside the box, doesn’t make it useless to MILLIONS of other users globally

[deleted post]No they haven’t at all, there is still a healthy market for smaller tablets, especially when the tablet is under $/£400, the average foldable is closer to $/£2000, I can get a flagship and a tablet and still have change over a foldable, that being said, prices of the new tech is falling

Foldables are ok, but until they will become mainstream, only a handful of people will buy them. Tablets are here since 2010 and they will be here long time from now. Not to mention a separate device is always better than "combos". No matter the type of device.
Besides, in the good old Apple way, they never release a product to the market, unless they know it will bring them profit. So, they know that an iPad Mini model will bring them profit (especially if they change the design and put a good price tag on it).
