Anonymous, 16 Jun 2021There are three things MIUI is best at. It sucks, it sucks ... moreI can perfectly understand your dilemma, because I too moved from Redmi 2 Prime to LG G8x.
If you do not use a VPN, I suggest you a free, open source app called 'NetGuard'. It works in the same way by restricting all data from a particular app. What it does is, it uses VPN feature of Android to control data access to all apps and works super reliably.
And its open source so it sends no data to any servers or anything, its all local.
Best way to test it? Well, try it on your xiaomi first, then on full satisfaction, you can change phones... I hope this helps.

'Restrict data usage' is the only reason I am sticking with Xiaomi. If any other UI implements it, I will escape from this trap with no delay.

Mikeromeoz, 15 Jun 2021Well, not really...
My pa owns an X3 which I bought in tan... moreI have 3 phones now in my possession. I had 4, but I sold one. Don't ask my why I had 4 phones.
Poco F3, Redmi 9T and Realme 7. The Redmi and Realme I bought them mainly for comparison, as I got them at some very nice discounts.
Poco F3 is in a league of its own when it comes to performance, not comparing it with the other two.
But the Realme 7 and Redmi 9T are comparable, even though the Realme 7 cost me only 100€ (brand new). Are comparable only on paper. When using them (even for basic stuff), the Redmi feels more laggy and sluggish. It could be because of the chipsets (Helio G95 is better than SD662 on paper). But, I am pretty sure is also because of the Ui's.
Both of them are not models I would recommend using it day by day. Especially for more heavy tasks. But, if I had to choose just between those two, Realme 7 is the clear winner.

It's all about the software, bro. Xiaomi is way behind in that regard. Miui is not bad at all neither are there phones but it simply doesn't measure up to bbk group realme in fluidity and software of things.

Anonymous, 15 Jun 2021MiUi is a good Ui to have only if you have a good and power... moreWell, not really...
My pa owns an X3 which I bought in tandem with that 10T, and since I'm biased towards xiaomi, there's a buddy which I've successfully goaded into buying a redmi 9T. The UI experience on both is great. Yes, there's some performance disparages here, like opening the camera app which is slightly slower on the 9T than the X3. And 9T is barely even capable of taking high-end gaming such as genshin. But the UI is in no way laggy. Side-by-side comparisons of doing regular things like scrolling, opening regular apps like wa, youtube, doing settings, are pretty much the same between a 60hz-set X3 and the 9T.
You do you when it comes to android UI preferences, especially that MIUI isn't everyone's cup of tea, with its heavy skinning, far from stock and whatnot. But people really need to share what they truly experience instead of circlejerking that "MIUI bad". It's kinda tiring.

Once you go to the more budget models things tend to become more laggy. Because Xiaomi business model is to release as many models as possible in order for people to change their phones, if they are not pleased with them.

The experience so far was great since more than half a year I've owned it. Sure, MIUI has its quirks like an extremely cluttered settings menu, a weird camera app, some ads here and there, and that irritating background process killer. It ain't perfect, but it isn't something I'd call "half-baked". Do tell your experiences here if you don't mind.

Xiaomi is all about beautiful looking devices filled with half baked software. You should check comparisons before attempting to discredit my findings and the reality. Even there latest mi band 6 is not good at basic fitness tracking like heart rate monitoring and stuff. I own mi 10t pro and mi band 6 FYI. People won't be fooled for long.
