There won't be a Huawei Mate 50 series this year, rumor has it

16 June 2021
The company's woes have taken a toll, and it's choosing to focus all its remaining resources on the P50 family.

They'll run out of components to make their phones. But soon, components will be devoid of US tech and they can make their phones again.

My current phone right now, mate 40 pro... I change phone roughly every 2 years, have had the mate 7, p9 plus, mate 10 pro, p30 pro, and now the mate 40 pro. Have tried other manufacturer like asus with their rog phone 3, iphone 12 max, and so on... Nothing compares to the optimization of huawei, maybe sony, but i havent tried it. Maybe my future phones will be sony. I hate samsung and other korean products.

guess the sd cant handle the video &
telephoto capabilities that d kirin has

&must be far ahead of its time in fact

Anonymous, 17 Jun 2021a simple google search is enough to read about all of the s... moreThere where far worse incidents with google & facebook compared to huawei. They have used their monopoly to crush the competition many times and caught red handed. Still you are accusing huawei being the worst enemy. If i go on then the comment will be too political. Plus when it comes to telecommunications infrastructure US Is atleast one or two generations behind huawei and is a lot expensive too. So they try to quash them so as to catch up with them. As simple as that.

keaixiaomeinv, 17 Jun 2021I am really conflicted about Huawei's current predicam... moreClaiming it's about "freedom" and "democracy" is hilarious.

Huawei's been singled out because it's competing telecommunication network infrastructure is slowly eroding US and it's allies' ability to tap into the global telecommunication network through Western companies that dominate that industry which allow the US and it's allies to spy on everything.

The US clearly views telecommunications as it's most critical or one of it's most critical intelligence gathering mechanisms and since there's no way Huawei will ever spy for the US, they've done all they can to cripple Huawei's ability to compete.

Pro Me, 17 Jun 2021The comment itself is contradictory. You have used mate 10... morea simple google search is enough to read about all of the shady business dealings huawei and other Chinese companies have done, unless you're ignoring them on purpose (of course you are)

Came from Sony, bite my tongue & try Huawei while being a bit skeptical 4 years ago. Best decision ever made.

Honor 8 Pro, Mate 20, P40. What a satisfactory device. I know somehow soon I will jumpship to another brand again because of Huawei uncertain future, but d@mn, they really make a great smartphone.

You have used mate 10 for 3 years and it's the most reliable phone. But you are sacrificing huawei for the general concerns that has not been proved with concrete evidence. Yet you will continue to use whatever Google - Apple - Facebook Ecosystem when they have been caught red handed multiple times. But you'll tell that their owners are less evil compared to others.
If you have encountered the issues with huawei and then if you say huawei can be sacrificed then it's alright.. But that's not the case.
                Double Standard

keaixiaomeinv, 17 Jun 2021I am really conflicted about Huawei's current predicam... moreExactly so!

I am really conflicted about Huawei's current predicaments.

I used a Mate 10 for three years and it was simply the most reliable phone I've ever had, and I have closely followed their ascent to become one of the top phone makers in the world. Hadn't it been for the bans, they would have left Samsung in the dust a long time ago by now.

I respect Huawei for its innovation and excellent products.

But at the same time, I do recognize the reality of the matter; they are always going to be beholden to the CPC. Huawei as a company is great, but the system and environment in which they operate cannot be allowed to capitalize on the goodwill of free countries and their systems.

Huawei, unfortunately, has to be sacrificed for the sake of the free world.

Proud owner of Mate 10 Pro. This thing is solid although it already is showing its age from time to time. Huawei flagships are quality devices.

Nevertheless, it's a sad thing to happen, especially since over the past few years, the Mate flagships have always been outstanding devices. It's not just Huawei losing because of all the bans, it's the mobile world as a whole, and consumers especially, since we will have one less choice for great devices.

Noooooo, Mate 20 Pro is the 2018 best phone of the year. While Mate 30 Pro with GMS is awesome, While Mate 40 Pro let me down a little. It is sad to not see Huawei innovate again with their mate series
