As the budget, midrange and upper midrange (those with SD800 but cost less than $400) are well worth your money for the bugs, which does not affect your daily use. For the top tier flagship though, go get the more established ones like Samsung and now, i believe Pixel will be one of them.

I don't really know what the hype about their OS is. It felt mostly like stock android with slight changes. The phone's a brick in terms of customisation. You don't even get an Equalizer for your phone. That's something I absolutely LOVE about MiUI.
You can customize mostly everything. And it's super fun! I can bass boost the everloving crap out of anything, turning speakers into glorified massagers without downloading an app with just an aux cable and 20 seconds to use the settings which still applies when wireless.
I can fine tune the colours of my screen, I can change the size of icons to be really big if I wanted or tiny dots. I can change the font of all text, I can even change the colour of the camera UI.
Biggest of all. I found that MiUI is much more detail oriented than OnePlus UI. If you swipe to the home page with the clock widget, the clock at the top left disappears. I know it's a very small detail, and honestly I might have never noticed unless I was comparing it with a OnePlus phone side to side but THATS the point. Some random developer put in the effort for this borderline useless feature. And I LOVE detail like that. I've never had bugs on my MiUI device except for two freak occurance where my swipe didn't work as it should and one time the screen got a red hue. A reboot fixed them and yeah, these are bugs and they should be fixed. MiUI is rough on the edges but my god if you spend time in the EXTREME amount of settings you get in a MiUI phone it's worth all those bugs. The customization and attention to detail is top notch and that easily puts MiUI as my top favourite UI. I don't care that its not great at performance, or that it might kill an hour of my battery because of lack of optimization. It's just amazing because of its features and I would pay the price.

If you don't like control center disable it and use the normal miui center, just go to setting and choose it,
Its nice to have more features, a lot of people like me prefer the control center over any "center" in other skins like one ui and emui and oxygen os😉
