beep bop boop, 20 Jun 2021Samsung Folder 2I know about those phones. The Galaxy Folder and the Golden series and some others but they all tend to be region exclusive and overpriced for what they offer and were flops and did not sell very well

The dual hinge models were the coolest design. Flip horizontally the bottom half was used as a keyboard, flip vertically and use as a phone with number pad. Like Samsung u740 . Motorola had one in development that I don’t think ever saw the light of day.

They should make an Android powered flip phone. The one with the folding display is too expensive at the moment and yet a lot of people would like to own one but it should be usable and not some feature phone stuff which is just worthless and of no use really. The flip design can make the costs go down and yet it can retain some fancy design which would be a welcome change in the world of ever increasing boring smartphone designs

In all honesty this design style is my favorite but I am still afraid of owning the flip display phones, specially owing to the fact that they are insanely expensive for the specs they offer

You forgot generations of LG's dual screen. Though it's usimg external second screen, they were first brand to try to make multiscreen popular, though it was not su successful. We went from vertical flip to horizontal, mostly, but because they lack the same lvl of cameras as non flip phones, they are not so popular, even for the similar price.
Though considering ergonomics and cameras, pure rollable would be better.

I'm surprised to see GSMArena doesn't mention the Samsung W2019. That is basically a Samsung Galaxy S9+ with the same SD 845 chipset and the same 12MP wide/telephoto dual camera but in a flip phone body. Even though it cost an absolute fortune and only forever remains a China-only model, I would definitely so love to own one.

No mention of RIM BlackBerry Pearl Flip/Style and their respective trackball/pad, wow. Still own the now dead Pearl Flip on the shelf, a rather clunky combi of T9 and qwerty keyboard with cool secondary screen. One of a kind phone so not gonna sell it anytime soon.

I've owned three flip phones
1. Sanyo SCP-5500 (February 2004)
2. Motorola V600 (May 2004)
3. Motorola RAZR V3 (February 2006)
The Sanyo was probably my favorite because it was navy blue and can actually record video that my V600 didn't do. And it had an LED flash that even the original RAZR didn't have. Too bad that Sanyo phone was on Sprint and became utterly useless when I stayed exclusively with Cingular/AT&T.
As popular as the RAZR was, and I had the black one, I really wasn't into it. It was basically like my V600 but in a thinner casing. I do like the style of the flip phones though. I do miss closing it. So much satisfaction hanging up a call when you close it.
I wouldn't mind the flip phones to return to popularity but I don't really see it happen unless Apple popularized it which I doubt will happen. I think slabs will be around forever. The flip phone is so mid-90s through mid-00s. And the convenience isn't really there for a Dasher like me.
I actually want the Motorola Razr but then realized both versions don't have wireless charging. That's something I can't live without any more. Wireless charging is a must because I'm sick and tired looking for the charging cables and breaking them.
I do give credit for flip phones for making me carry two phones with me at all times. My pairing of the Sanyo SCP-5500 on Sprint and Motorola V600 on Cingular by May 28, 2004 made me like Michael Fisher, AKA Captain2Phones.

Favourite is Motorola V60i. Still would buy it if available. I had Motorola Accompli 008. you forgot that one. Hopefully there will be more flip phones in future. You can actually fit those in your pocket.

I always wanted a Motorola flip phone. They were the most stylish and sophisticated. But by the time I saved enough to buy one, they were out of fashion.

It took them a long time to make it mainstream again but they did it and deservedly so.
