      And this is just one of reasons why I don't want Google in my life. And why I ditched it years ago and never looked back. People are so invested into whole Google's ecosystem they don't even know programs and services outside of it. And they even falsely believe whatever Google makes is the best. DuckDuckGo is so much better than Goolag, Firefox is better than crappy Chrome, ProtonMail's interface is so much better, pCloud is way better than Google Drive, NextDNS instead of Google DNS, HERE WeGo and Apple Maps instead of Google Maps and so on and so on. For every thing Google makes there is a really good alternative. But everyone just sticks with Google everything and complains about Apple's "closed" ecosystem while being locked in Google's craptastic ecosystem.

        Further efforts by Google to censor opinions it disagrees with. Google has become the biggest propagandist organization on earth.

          Google silently becomes "The Ministry of Truth"...
          Big tech media is a Cancer, through their "fact checkers"(bunch of nonacademic sofasurfers behind a computer screen) suppresing truth, censoring scientists, doctors, academics, etc...at a touch of a button.
          And Dare now suggest to people what is "true".
          Disgusting.

              Thank goodness people here are actively calling this out. A search engine is supposed to be unbiased. A fact checker might seem like a good idea, but it by definition means google as an organization will have direct rights to flag any media outlet as "false" without having to justify it to said media outlet or to the public. If they provide justification right there say
              I google "covid deaths worldwide" and google shows me results but the third result is flagged as false, it should me mandatory for Google to mention why. Like maybe


              "FALSE"

              If such a reasoning isn't provided, who's to say Google won't manipulate information? They already personalise the search results you see based on all your past browsing and other exorbitant amounts of data they gather about you. Now it just means google could easily flag anything anti "current govt" in any country and BAM, now that country's govt has an iron rule. Google is politically safe with current govt and current govt can basically dictate.

              Ofc what I mentioned is an extreme case but others have mentioned very good points in which google may abuse this "false flag" of theirs didn't feel like copy pasting their points

              Man privacy is basically becoming non existent now a days. I just recently shifted to Firefox and started using Blokada to block trackers and it's been an eye opener checking the host logs. Google pinged every 2~5 mins, Facebook pinged every 1~2 mins etc

                    so, if someone looking for an answer "is chicken considered as bird/aves or fish?" from google, then there were 57.892.264 results saying chicken is considered as fish and only 121 results saying chicken is bird, of course the results would put "chicken is fish" on top results. Is it google fault? Google just searching about it.. not to determine whether chicken is fish or bird..

                      Google is censoring results and now it's making the policy official. W0ke results will be first.

                      Image results are just as bad. Try searching for 'white couple' and see. Then search for 'black couple' and compare.

                        Been using DDG since 2014, never looking back. However there are some people who can't completely switch because of inferior (for niche cases) search results and Brave Search couldn't had arrived in better time than now. Seriously, try search.brave.com it's really great and it's still in public beta

                            Well excuses cannot be excused.
                            But google always finds way how to make impossible possible and instead of takinng responsibility they just make excuses everywhere they can simmilar to apple policy.

                              Who will be the fact checkers.
                              Let user decide what is fact or not.
                              Google should not dwell in this business like twitter.
                              This will create anarchy in society. Will be misused by one with power and control of Google to hide the voice of other parties.

                                Glad to see that other’s are as concerned by this as I am.

                                Google should stick to just serving up the information, and stay the hell away from any calls to arbitrate that information!

                                  no doubt this made feature will be abused by themselves.

                                      Base on what does Google decide that one source is reliable, and the other is not?

                                      Can they guarantee that they won't interfere with the "fact"?

                                      There search results nowadays already biased enough. This is just another move to push there political agenda the the mass.

                                      All I want is a search result based purely on ranking like Google once used to be. The users will decide what they want to hear or to believe.

                                        At this point, I might actually start rooting for HarmonyOS, if anything, just for it to shake Google.
