I really hope apple will go down. Non other reason just that their effrontery is making me sick. Don't get me wrong, i don't like samsung ider but this apple is just going to far with others inventions. Nokia should sue them just for making smartphones, not to mention that big list iphone copied...

Bluetooth is a technology that was developed by Ericsson. Apple will claim someday that they invented Bluetooth, and Van Herald Bluetooth is their father.

This will go on forever until all of their patents are invalidated. Before apple companies actually shared technology, they still do, but now most are worried about patenting everything. Do you know what symbian, maemo and meego have in common besides being wildly used by nokia? They are the results of companies collaborating.

I think Apple shoud be disgusted with their corporate ethos on business. It may be the biggest company in the world but i certainly wouldnt expect anyone to model a business from them. If my phone wasnt so practical for me i'd probably boycot Apple.

Thats the problem. They are using the same parts we are but claiming they invented, innovated, came up with and what not and charge the most for it. Then IOS is locked down to all heck and full of bought, copied, stolen things. Then they try and sue everyone for their stolen idea...To top it all of they users are so occult like they think apple invented everything and that its the best thing ever and believe everything apple says.

So many haters here. What Apple do with the patents is wrong, but some forget to realise that the iphone is still a great handset.
(P.S not saying its the best, or great for everyone but personally i like it)

Maybe at last The Courts and United States Patent and Trademark Office are starting to see through all the hysteria and claims that Apple consistently makes. Apple didn't develop the basic cellular telecommunications technologies upon which smartphones are based. Those patents are held collectively by just about all hi-tech manufactuers. Some of the same competitors it is suing. Example - The first patents related to touchscreen devices that could recognise handwriting were filed in 1942, but you can trace its origins as far back as 1888! The first true tablet was the GRiD Pad, launched in 1989. It ran MS DOS and used a stylus to input text. Apple lays claim to things that are not their own...things that have been around for ages. Apple re-brands claim they own all rights to, and sells to people who just cannot see the wood for the trees AT A HUGE PROFIT. Again "Apple is itself a consummate imitator".

James Langley, 24 Oct 2012The problem is that manufacturers previously didn't bother ... morethats actually true, the ring of thrust was broken by apple with their greedy, jobs was frustrated by is past with microsoft and decided to patent ideas from, nokia, motorola, SonnyEricsson and Siemens, they were the founders of several innovations and they have shared(by some price ahead) their innovation. Hope apple will be force to stop this nonsense, because its slowing down the "innovation"
