If only other manufacturers would make phones with headphone jacks, SD card slots and screens that haven't been mutilated to accommodate a camera

best way I can justify me buying any Sony phone if you understand what Sony philosophy is and that philosophy aligns with yours then obviously you're going to enjoy the product regardless of the price or if it's not appreciated by others

I really don't know why I bother reading you. You clearly don't understand the Sony's way of doing things. Since the beginning of time the individuals that are doing the things their way and not go with the herd ar those who came with the best innovations possible at the moment.
So keep doing your shallow stuff and let the quirkiness of Sony phones for those who appreciate them.

For that price tag, Sony could had done their IT job for sustainable fork on Android OS (like Jolla had Sailfish), instead of using Google's echosystem & not being different from standard release phones.
They didn't leverage Japanese talent (sharp or panasonic) and produced these cheaply in Thailand, when crafting labour is available at Japan and could justify the brand recognition.
Also release date was too late for consumers, for Ceo's I don't know, they're less punishing on sales?

too late sony... again and AGAIN! it was announced in April so, it should have been on sale by May. s21u went on discounts already so, it can be found cheaper.

a huge problem with dynamic content and calibration was amazing wrong - people skin was orange, very light gray asphalt). Sooo...

IMO, when buying a flagship, everyone carries the latest SD chip, lots of RAM and ample storage. Its the little things that matter and Sony ticks all the right boxes for me. The 'holdable' design, no display cutouts, a clean-ish Android interface, 3.5mm jack, tool-less SIM swap and the side fingerprint sensor are what I want and this phone has it.
The camera could have been better, but it is more than enough for sharing photos with friends and family. I personally have no need for a 4K screen or the vast manual camera controls on a phone but eh, its there.

I still cant believe how Sony do that.. when I use that Walkman every day), Xperia P - 7 years (many drops on concrete - Alu unibody), PSP 12 years.
Soo for me Sony = quality.

Shanti Dope, 12 Jul 2021You really think you know how everyone else would feel when... moreMan had Moto X4 for 3 and half years still in a top grade condition apart the battery , sold it to a friend of mine for 100 bucks abd bought new device after 3 and halff years.
Now i have Xiaomi Mi 11 lite 5G it also have everything i would ever need. Wouldnt spend a dime on brand like Samsung or Apple they are not worth the money and effort.
Phone is not worth 1300 because with its average specs manufacturing price is maybe 250-350 dollars which means it shouldnt be sold for more than 500-700 bucks othervise is greatly overpriced.
You said it have everything but this everithing are just a very costly features compared to reality where i can replace those very costly features with almost no cost features doing the same thing.
For example IP6X resistance. Any cover for few bucks can protect from water and most phones can withstand small raid with ease.
GG Victus for example. If i put phone into a book case add a 5D 9H screen protector i have same thing for another 5 bucks no need to pay 30-50 for a GG Victus.
And tons of other examples.
Yes man this phone have everything for nothing.
Is for those people who are lazy to use good cover t use screen protector and many else.
It have good charger in box which cost another bunch of bucks where a half baked chinese charger does same tricks for 10-20% of its price.
Nubia red magic cost less than half and offers much more features in certain aspects and in other ways anything missing i can easily replace with something cheaper which will do same tricks just an example.

It's alright, Sony fans. These foolish samsung/xiaomi fans will immediately buy the next incremental upgrade anyways even if they say their current phones are better than the Xperia 1 III.
