It was about competition with the US chip producers. Qualcomm and apple were in danger because Huawei development was extremely fast in hardware/software department. If Huawei will produce their own chips the US is doomed.

Impossible. Huawei has stopped innovating. No more chip from them right? So how they can get chips ln their new phones? Mediatek? Qualcoom? Exynos?
