Claude Stanchev, 09 Jul 2021Oh, come on, Nokia! Just make good phones and stop messing ... moreJust so you know this is Nokia who has lawsuit against Oppo and not HMD that uses Nokia branding. HMD probably only have right to use the patents from Nokia on there Nokia branded phones, but cant sue anyone and probably dont have money to sue anyone also

SuuperBaka, 09 Jul 2021Anyone making fun of Nokia for filing a lawsuit are clowns.... morePatents are dumb, that's what they are.

On the other hand, this really shows how desperate BBK is becoming to be more competitive. Sacrificing OnePlus' "independence", trying to get away with "IP theft"... What's next, advertising in the OS? Oh, wait...

Claude Stanchev, 09 Jul 2021Oh, come on, Nokia! Just make good phones and stop messing ... moreStop being a clown. That is a serious matter, oppo is using Nokia's intellectual property without a permission therefore Nokia is losing millions or even billions because of that. In other words Oppo is trying to steal.

hi, 09 Jul 2021oppo isn't an interesting brand at all tbh i think it&... moreMight not be an interesting brand for you, but you have to look at the marketshare it has. Oppo by itself has a lot of marketshare and when you include it's sub brands Oneplus, Realme etc it will be huge chunk of market.

Anyone making fun of Nokia for filing a lawsuit are clowns. Go learn what patents are

They have every right to do so!

                    This is the point :
"Nokia put out an official statement that Oppo has rejected the offer of renewing the contract so it had to take legal actions since Oppo continues to use those patents."

If Oppo doesn't continue the contract, Oppo must stop using Nokia's patents.

Claude Stanchev, 09 Jul 2021Oh, come on, Nokia! Just make good phones and stop messing ... moreOppo stole from them. What part of that do you not understand?

The Chinese unwillingness to pay for what they are using rears its ugly head again. I mean, way bigger S-Korean and American companies do, but they probably felt that they could just grab it by force.

Claude Stanchev, 09 Jul 2021Oh, come on, Nokia! Just make good phones and stop messing ... moreYeah, they absolutely should let others use their intellectual properties—ones they probably spent billions of dollars in R&D for—for free.

Boy, didn't you just win the award for the silliest comment of the day?

Seems the kids making fun of Nokia without understanding what a patent is. To make it simple, they created something and other companies are apying to use it. In this case, a company from a certain country uses their patent without paying for it.

Inb4 people makes fun of nokia without knowing how patented things works just to defend oppo.

It may not sound much but a single product and contain tons of patents and each of them requires money & time, in this case Nokia probably pour a lot of money on those patents and they independently developed it.

Imagine someone using your original idea on a presentation at school without your consent , wouldn't that be horrible?

Oh- wait it has already began
