The loss of redness in the tail lamp is caused by chroma noise reduction, which would have to be applied more aggressively on Mi11U due to Quad Bayer remosaiced full res images being more prone to false colours than those from a regular Bayer sensor."
True and I don't disagree with that. My point is they got it right on the actual scooter but didn't in the reflection behind. Since reflection is darker than actual scene, it is entirely upto Xiaomi's processing.

Nokia 808 Pureview or Nokia Lumia 1020!!
In adroid with snapdragon 855, larger battery maybe 5,000 mah. Corning gorilla glass 5 or 6. Name your price Nokia, i'll buy it if God willing. And the 41 megapixel of that phone, i miss it so much. Very beautiful to capture images and the videos are excellent. In the past I had nokia lumia 1020 color yellow.

Nick Tegrataker, 18 Jul 2021By ”hotel shots” I was referring to the second set of photo... moreThat seems more of a dynamic range issue rather than a sharpness issue. The scene shifted from bright building wall to dark glass tower. The nokia crushed the shadows and everything inside it was lost. You can see it if you look at the contrast in that (russian?) letter's reflection. Also if you look in that glass tower you can see the paint loss pattern on the glass frame in the nokia whereas that is lost on xiaomi. Look at the letter T on VITOSHA. The damage is actually clearer in nokia.
Regarding QB CFA, only colour information is lost (which do matter), luminescence information is more or less the same. And in that hexagon pattern not just colour info was lost.

To @GSMARENA Include portrait shots as a comparison from now on, sans artificial bokeh. Skin textures and tonal range are important aspects of photography within our generation.

Why don't oems reuse this kind of sensor?

But we didn't ask the viable question. What if innovation was done to enhance the quality of images, over what Nokia has captured? Where would we be now instead of today's plastically rendered artificial pixels?

This shows why a bayer sensor with lots of MP phased out. High noise for a given sensor area, lots of crosstalk across the pixels, too many pixels to process at a time, terrible for moving objects. Quad bayer can solve all of those issues at once.

Imagine if Pixel 6 arrives with a 50MP sensor with Night Sight and Super Res Zoom algorithms to erase artifacts in high resolution mode. This antique Nokia will not stand a chance hahaha.

Fill in the colour? There is not a single phone on this planet that actually does that.

Imagine nokia 808 comes with android at the time, what will Nokia be right now?

Rkm, 18 Jul 2021Almost all youtubers judge solely based on dynamic range. T... moreMy favorite is how quickly they come to point out "blown highlights" and when they go into deep disertation which sample has more or less "highlight burnspots" but they never ask themselves if one sample actually has killed the highlights instead. Then they totally omit the fact that some phones in order to show the sky either fill in the white void with blue gradient or they underexpose the actuall subject in order to save the sky. They barely mention the shift of the subject in the photo, when some cloud or a roof or tall foliage comes in focus instead of a human being or a car or a cat that was the reason why photograph has been taken in the first place but they got underexposed. This usually happens in indoor situations when there is a window in a shot and a HDR trigger happy phone goes above and beyojnd to show you whats behind the window while totally ingoring your cat on a couch.

The loss of redness in the tail lamp is caused by chroma noise reduction, which would have to be applied more aggressively on Mi11U due to Quad Bayer remosaiced full res images being more prone to false colours than those from a regular Bayer sensor. This is more of an inherent nature of QB hence is nothing to do with whatever the computational image processing Mi11U employs.

As for the balcony shots with hexagonal patterns you just mentioned - the pattern distortion actually something that is almost ENTIRELY up to the sensor resolution and/or the CFA, not the lens.

Comparing Xiaomi and Nokia, I still prefer Xiaomi, Nokia is moving backward and don't have specific feature to compete with other, even Motorola are far better than Nokia.

Nowadays, smartphone camera reviewers, we can say, their opinions are out of reality... A misrepresented scene or sharpness or unnatural depiction is rated enthusiastically as excellent or very good... 🙄

we can clearly see nokia capture images with depth and realistic. And also details are real not chunks of artificial pixels. xiaomi or any modern phone just overprocess the image to get shadows then sharpen it and increase contrast with artificial color. And also there is no real depth , just looks like overprocessed 2d photos. Modern images from xiaomi just looks like images from cartoons. Its just can't capture the realistic environment and depth. But majority people just like popping colors...so companies are just giving them popping colors with over sharpened images.

Imagine if Nokia after Symbian moves to MeeGo or simultaneously produces phones with Android and MeeGo ?!
Maybe it would ultimately be Android - but even then Nokia - the real Nokia (because now phones with the Nokia brand are chinese HMD Global) would produce phones. Racing with Samsung, LG (their cameras have always been good), Huawei, Apple, Sony. Above all, there would be one more valuable producer - not Chinese.

For many years I had phones mainly from Nokia N or E series and finally Nokia 808 PureView and finally..."terrible" Windows Phone (eg 930). The system was underdeveloped, no applications, and most of all no options and possibilities. This caused the largest producer with sales of tens of millions to hit the bottom.
Nokia (old one) sold the phones division to Microsoft and stopped making the phones. And then Microsoft after the defeat of Windows Phone / Mobile sold the phone division (Nokia) to Foxconn.
Do you know who was the boss of Nokia when they moved from Symbian (and stopped releasing Symbian updates and dropped MeeGo)? Stephen Elop - a long-time employee of...yes! Microsoft, who chose WP for his (new) company - as the only company in the world Nokia had phones ONLY with WP.
HTC, Samsung, LG and others all produced from Android and WP, and only Nokia only had WP.

And the Nokia 808 PV itself? Historical phone, the largest digital image sensor of its time in phones - 1/1.2". Importantly - the camera sensor size, not the number of megapixels, this one was also huge but it was about how big the sensor is because it is it not the size of the megapixels, that determines the quality of the photos. And the Nokia 808 PV was excellent, it is a pity that Nokia has not developed cameras for the phone market since then.
Interestingly - then Nokia was strongly criticized it that time by many journalists eg for for shape and protruding camera on the back! And today it is a standard and something that Apple / iPhone, Samsung, Xiaomi, Sony have at home. And the same people they praise the products of Samsung, Xiaomi, Apple, when Nokia was a prophet ;)
