And making rebrands of a rebrand of a rebrand to saturate the market so much it ends up looking they are competing with other companies and in the end you can have Xiaomi, Redmi and Poco phones sitting on same shelf all spammed into the market by same company. Yeah, no.

John, 14 Jul 2021I only trust Fairphone when it comes to sustainability beca... morefairphone has a different issue - everything being too expensive

and even if this is true
"The Fairphone 3+ contains the most post-consumer recycled plastic of any Fairphone, with a total of 40% recycled plastic in the phone and its modules."

      this is also true
"Every time plastic is recycled, the polymer chain grows shorter, SO ITS QUALITY DECREASES. The same piece of plastic can only be recycled about 2-3 times before its quality decreases to the point where it can no longer be used"

Totally agree with reader who commented we don't need flashy boxes. We need boxes made from recycled paper and printed using soy inks. A standard 33Watt charger instead of a whole bunch of different chargers for different fones and less fone models that only differ in chipset and camera resolution. A compact midranger 6 inch would be welcome for smaller hands.

Removing charger from the box is not exactly reducing waste if you have like at least 3 new models per 3 months while rebrand your models to what ever market in every month

They care about sustainability so much that they've long had flashy boxes instead of boxes from recycled materials like they did back in Redmi 1s era.

John, 14 Jul 2021I only trust Fairphone when it comes to sustainability beca... moreIssue with it is that it's lagging Android versions quite badly and it's pretty expensive for what it is. They could save quite some in costs if they shipped it to customers like a LEGO set. Disassembled in bits and user would have to assemble it. Assembly surely costs them even if it means just putting modules together and sticking in battery. Someone has to do it and that costs. I think price is what keeps people from getting one the most even if it's relatively poor in features. If it would be cheaper many would dismiss that fact. But yeah, just the fact you can easily replace battery is pretty cool. Although I've seen few models from Doogee that are Android smartphones and still have user replaceable battery. It's 80-120€ phones. But it's pretty neat that you can in this time when everything is glued together. And they weren't even thick phones!
