If they want updates then they buy Nokia cause thats what they get from the phone. they get updates for the phone only cause it dont have any other features for the phone. Like the infrared measuring tools or thermal cameras and so on that they probably would need for there work and why they want a rugged phone in the first place.

4 years of secur... moreWho cares about the updates so much that that is the main reason they buy a phone ? The nerds who buy phones cause of the updates are maybe at very most 5% of the population. And even these people dont have there phone longer then 2 years before they switch to new phone.
People who buy the ulefone or okitel and so on buy it cause it's rugged phone with lots of features. They dont buy this Nokia cause it has rubber case on it and pretty much no features at all. And this rugged Nokia phone wont come out of the box with Android 12. Probably will be Android 10 so they can have android 11 update in it and end with android 13 as the last update. Like they do with all there phones

Well I've used a Lumia 730 few years ago, which had a very unique design which I loved. Microsoft platform gave a new feel.
I'm currently using Pixel 4a, and it's faster and crisper than my Dad's S10 plus, and the best part: clean beautiful simple Android 12 UI, much better pics thanks to Google, and better handling, than the all so "glamorous" slippery glass design of the Samsung.
I would always prefer stock Android than the brands that put their own, not so "functional" UI layer, to add bling.
Those who are not so particular about UI, can definitely go for Nokia phones with stock Android.

It's a very widespread issue about certain Nokia phones, example, 7 Plus and 6.1 Plus but just dissing on the brand is what I find unfair as literally every brand out there has had few production issues at some point. The very phone I am typing this comment on has display issues that are due to flaws in it's initial production batches

Nokia 3.2 at 3.3 stars and 562 ratings
Now compare this with 2018's lineup:
Nokia 6.1 Plus 4.5 stars with 2,12,218 ratings
Nokia 5.1 Plus 4.3 stars with 1,76,513 ratings
Since, most people don't update their year old reviews and simply change the brand for once and for all, these 2018 smartphones has such amazing stats.
I don't know where on earth your shop is situated and how you fool the people into buying HMD Global, but these stats clearly shows the difference.

Nokia have a charger port issue which they denied warranty even after they accept as their quality defect.
Even low cost phones survive better than Nokia where they charge premium. I have now switched from Nokia..
Can't trust on Nokia quality anymore..

But then, unlike you, Mr. Trillionaire, I don't find it worthy enough to keep investing in something as depreciating asset as a smartphone. A "simple" hardware issue that trashMD could NOT manage to fix THRICE, another "simple" hardware issue that existed on trashMD phones in my country and was never fixed.
And you are witnessing just ONE single consumer who shifted and vowed never to go back to trashMD again. And there are thousands or maybe millions out there. Just look at 2017-18 and 2020-21 or 2019-20 sales data of trashMD.

It is a pretty annoying and frustrating problem to have on a smart phone and there is no way to know whether the new phones will have it or not. Let's wait and see if proven wrong people may decide to buy it.

No brand can draw attention like nokia and sony.e but they have to understand the competition. The only thing that is worth mentioning is 5g other than that the specs on this phone are not impressive. An average infinix, oppo etc phone with half the price will have better specs on it and with a gorilla glass 5. And most of the world don't have 5g and it will take some time. To make it successful it better have a very affordable price else company is wasting it's money on a product that will not do well.
