Anonymous, 27 Jul 2021Think of it this way, this phone being rugged means that it... moreMy 170 euro phone have lived over 3 years and still going very good with Sd636 and 3GB ram. And it's not rugged. I have work where i deal with water as it's one of my main tools at work without it i cant work what i do. I also am in dusty places a lot and the phone have survived all of that while have only the in the box case on it. Yes it had only 18 months of updates but so what ? What am i missing out not having updates ? I dont have anything in my phone that be useful to hackers. I also dont have any passwords remembered by my phone to important sites. I also dont do banking stuff on my phone even tough it's more complicated cause i need ID card for it or ID card sim for it and then there is systems involved that even when i get hacked then they cant get access to my bank accounts without my ID sim card or just my id card. And thats what is the majority of people if it comes to security updates and android updates. They just dont care about these updates like i dont. And i and they are using the phone as long as it last. When the phone just dont work anymore like battery is dead or something then it's time to change a phone to new one. Buy one 1-2 euro more rugged case for your phone and it be same like this Nokia so called rugged phone where the ruggedness dont protect screen while with the case edge go enough over screen that it protects screen too. If i want a rugged phone i buy me a rugged phone that actually is a rugged phone and not something like this that is way too expensive for what it offers. For 550 i can get flagship specs phone and i care more about having good hardware over some updates. Updates can make problems to the phones. There is always a chance that update maybe will brick the phone or make the phone consume more power that drains more battery

Three major OS updates? Now that is an enticing prospect to look forward to. $550 does sound quite steep for what is basically an entry-level SD 400 series smartphone. But considering that it has GG Victus glass protection and MIL-STD-810H certification with that price, it does sound like a good value to me.

As usual Nokia launches a vastly overpriced phone. This time they try the rugged moniker.
Take a €200 phone, make it marginally sturdier, do the bare minimum in testing, give it an extra year warranty and updates. BAM! Now you have a €500 phone.
In the rugged category you have genuinely rugged phones and phones that are merely ruggedized. Just looking at the images you can easily tell this is not a 'true' rugged phone, but just a ruggedized phone. Kind of like the Samsung Xcover series, except on the Nokia you cannot replace the battery easily, but the Nokia has got a bit faster soc and costs €200 more. In most cases you can achieve the same result with a well-selected 'normal' smartphone and a decent case for only half the price... Had this been a genuinely rugged phone, things may have been different, but clearly, it's not...

If not, then get the comment of that guy (whom I have replied) read by someone (who know how to read) and make him understand you the same.
Then let me know if that guy even mentioned the word "rugged" or not.
Because according to me, he only talked of price, not of category.
Nevertheless, just get rid of this brand and you'll have a better phone. Ulefone Armor 9 is way better than this entry level SoC. If 5G is all you want, then increase your budget a little and get Armor 10 with Dimensity 800 and it'll increase the performance by more than twice. Other options include Doogee S95 and Blackview 9900
P.S: At least don't spoil other's reputation by naming your account as theirs. They have worked hard to create a name among the devs

Get 4 years o... moreThink of it this way, this phone being rugged means that it's gonna outlive other regular phones by years, be it on second hand or on third hand and the late buyer will be glad that their new old phone won't be outdated by the time they bought it since they still got the current updates or latest enough to not make it obsolete.

Spend a bit more and you'll get incomparable SD870 or save a bit less and get SD860.
