They had to make sure all of the bugs/issue should be fixed before handing over to DxO (or maybe can warn 1st not to be published). Huawei in the other hand in this matter, well prepared. I dont see nothing wrong with it.
The software update will send to consumer afterwards, like they always did previously.

All phones give you a exposure slider for that purpose and additionally some of them (e.g. Huawei phones) have a spot metering option, too.

You're saying this from your own artistic standpoint that strong contrast will always make a photo look more attractive. Human eyes capture very wide DR and if you edit an image to match what we actually see then you'll end up getting a fairly flat looking image, which is what essentially ALL HDR processing (not just phone's auto HDR, but also the one found inside some of dedicated cameras as well as the manual bracketing option on photo editing apps) are trying to achieve. As Shui8 already mentioned this could work well for many landscape and architecture shots, and is potentially useful for many other scenario as well depending on a situation.

No HD Netflix, Amazon prime playback.
For me the most important payment app.... Gpay didn't work.
I can live without maps, gmail, youtube (I use newpipe) and the other garbage from Google like photos, assistant, etc. But I can't live without Gpay.
If Huawei allowed bootloader unlock, one could easily install another ROM and get rid of these issues. But on Huawei, with locked bootloader... One cannot do much.
On my Mi 11 Ultra, I have unlocked bootloader, but I don't see the need to change from Stock Chinese ROM as everything works great.

The software is also terrible... Unable to get basic things right like white balance.
All artificially pumped skies and oversaturated images like Samsung from few years back.

Camera software plays a huge role, so you can't just say that things like the huawei p50 pro/iPhone 12 pro max are worse just because of the worse camera hardware.

Well so this year Huawei P50 pro is top then Xiaomi MI 11 ultra and rest just toying on the sand as always nothing new.

Ever since using the P40 pro and my current Mi 11 Ultra, I have stopped taking my mirrorless camera on vacations.
These days, smartphones get the job done effectively without having to carry around extra weight.

Sorry Huawei, I already bought the MI 11 Ultra. I don't see a future in being part of the Huawei ecosystem anymore, especially with so many compromises because of lack of Google Play services.
