Wow, harsh start for Huawei, nearly 40% who don't want them!
I'm kinda wanted to test the P50 vanilla but after hearing the price of the Mi 11 Ultra in China (1200 EUR here, that's insane! - 849 EUR for the Mi11, which is insane too!), I would go for that!

Huawei is a brand which keeps on setting the edge but some manipulating forces keep on trying to overshadow others to create monopoly.....still I'm glad that Harmony OS is the result of such consequences, atleast we have more options to choose from in the future when this OS matures over time

I'm looking for the Pro + that is still to come and is said to include 5G. That one will blast the competition.

I disabled LTE to try to get better reception, then I just left it off. I could still live with it fine, it was not much slower for me. I turned it back on but the difference to 5G will be even smaller for general usage. And as long as unlimited plans are not widespread, I don’t see any need to pay more for 5G devices/plans, there could even be the same argument made for LTE.

mmwave 5G is still kinda pointless imo for mobiles, unless you permanently set-up shop/home near a tower w/o direct LoS. 4G+ is still more than enough where the coverage is good

As Samsung is a foreign brand in China, there is 20%import tax hence why so much expensive, same with apple as it's the same, only 50% local partnership (50% forencompanies or mainland China companies exempt from this tax.

The phone looks great and well thought-out. The camera seems amazing. But without 5G and Google Services, the phone would have had to deliver more than that. The camera should have been even more than amazing. As such, unless they impress with pricing (the P40 Pro got cheaper than the P30 Pro really fast), I expect a flop.

Why would you want anything other than a crypto wallet on these anyway... I mean. Why use a bank nowadays. GMS was more an issue for banks or Netflix... But don't worry as a lot of people use crypto and only want to use crypto these days... So these phones are excellent especially as they have Google not spying so much on you. Possibly the least spied on phone on the market.

Way to expensive, I'll stick with the p40+. It's not only cheaper, but overall a much more polished product

From personal experience, gms are not a problem. Hms are acceptable and there is a way to download almost any app you want. Even if you cannot there are alternatives.
