A few years ago my friend's xiaomi phone dropped into a pond (not a good pond) for more than 30 minutes, still on. I guess they do give some water resistance but not paying for the ratings (it's not gonna be as reliable as rated one though).
I guess this one is being rated (and very possibly getting improvement for the resistance) because they sell it to japan. Maybe it's one of the main features that's "needed" for japanese market.

They should drop the 2 2mp cameras and replace it with a 5mp camera that can do bokeh and micro in one.

Can Xiaomi kindly introduce IP68 rating on Mi11 versions too? Their flagship devices are on top but only lack the most important aspect.
You can't spend your last only to tear your heart if it accidentally slip on water because of absence of water and dust IP68 resistance.
