Peter, 04 Aug 2021I'm not sure why I would buy a Xiaomi phone when the c... moreCaught...? Stealing...?

No, they gather data same as everyone else, especially from browsers. It's a part of the terms and conditions of the browser.

As usual, some people don't understand how "in private"/"incognito" modes work and believe that no data will be collected, even though it of course will. These people who were shocked about this on Xiaomi's browser probably belongs in the same group of people who were shocked a few years earlier wen they learned it about Google Chrome and every other browser.

The only thing those modes does is not store cookies and browser history on the device once the session is closed. So that other users of said device can't spy on you. Sites and the browser itself still collects user data, just not the same "pool" of data as your "non-incognito" browser session.

blue.sun, 03 Aug 2021With zero development and 100 % copying it is easy to sell ... moreAnd who exactly is Xiaomi copying?

Funny that I, a European, use a Xiaomi flagship and I'm also very excited for the Mi Mix 4. Since you say Xiaomi doesn't sell flagship phones in Europe. . .

I'm not sure why I would buy a Xiaomi phone when the company has been caught red-handed stealing user data including browser information and contacts. My understanding is that under Chinese law, the company is obligated to turn over any and all information to the Chinese state without warning to the user.

                Xiaomi you have done it!!!
Their software needed some refinement, they responded by listening to customers and delivered it in miui 12.5

hmm, 04 Aug 2021Everyone is collecting data and make money out of it. There... moreYou really have no idea what you are talking about... anyway, to collect anonymous data for analitycs for better developement and other situations is one thing (not something to be proud of) but to track, profile and sell peoples lives, is a whole lot of something else. The problem this days is that people like you, like to talk as they have no idea what they are talking about, they tend to think and spread the idea that everyone does it and is ok. Nothing is ok, and what chinese companies do, is certainly worse then what lets say apple does, so don't try to put two different things in the same bucket and call it normal just for you to feal better about buying knockoff's, it ain't working.

Anonym, 03 Aug 2021Indeed! It's a shame that people don't call Xiaom... moreEveryone is collecting data and make money out of it. There just isnt any brand that dont do it. At least Xiaomi admits they do it and there for can have phone prices down. Other brands are doing it a lot too but they dont have there phone prices down. Samsung for example 350 euro cost A52 model from it's hardware it's around 200 euro phone from Xiaomi. From Xia0omi you get flagship hardware for that money but will lack on camera that is still ok.

Poco F3 for example cost less then A52 but in hardware performance is better then A52.

A52 4G is around SD480 or Helio G95 range of power. 5G version is around dimensity 800 range.

Poco X3 Pro you can get for 230 euro and you cant compare it with anything as there are nothing that is around 550.000 antutu score around that price point
