The consumers getting smarter every year. We want a device that completely has great features with reasonable price. Galaxy S series want to compete iPhone as a premium price and brand too, Look at the iPhone's market share globaly. Even iPhone SE and XR cannot compete enough with Android's high midrangera for price to performance. Galaxy A series also the same. This year samsung still holding a leader with 2% with the runner up xiaomi but next year xiaomi will take a leader just like what happened in Europe now. Slowly but sure.

I replaced my note 9 with a Xiaomi MI10T, this phone is much better than the note for a fraction of the cost. I will probably upgrade to the MI 12 ultra next year.

With the amazing s20 fe 5g, there is no real reason to buy the S21 series. Also due to the lack of sd card.

S20FE Snapdragon (4G/5G version) is waayyyy more appealing / value for money, considering it's price. Fast and reliable chipset, good camera & screen. Most of S21/S21+'s features are available on S20 FE.

That can be true. It happened because lowest models of S21 series are sold on the price tag of a Flagship device. No built quality, wow Exynos, no accessories and prices like ultra pro max universe, double headed Snapdragon with tensor ARM chip with Gorilla glass 99 H concrete hardnesses.
Yes, this series is lowest specially S21 and S21+ ... Ultra is fine but very pricey. Hope for best, lets see what price they will tag S22.

With that overheating and throttling SD888 is no surprise the S21 is a big failure

I think it's due to the Covid, people are more reasonable with their money, plus, cheap phones became much better and also iPhones became cheaper.
Samsung needs to keep up, maybe their FE line up will help.

They are expensive. In Canada at least. Even when they get a 10-15% discount they look expensive.

If note 20 ultra had 3.5mm jack and sd card, i will not go to iphone to test the water. Now they remove the charger too. Apple can do whatever with their iphone as there are no alternatives. Samsung want to be apple and it backfires to them. I hope they sales number decline until they found out that they are not apple.
