I would be interested in getting the Pixel 6 if and that's a big if...…they have a version that is just 599 - 699 USD starting price. If the base model starts at 799 then I wont be getting this phone at all. but if they have it were the base model is : 599 for the 128, 699 for the 256 model, and then the pro model starts at 799 - 999 then Ill go for the base model pixel 6.

rizki1, 08 Aug 2021hmm they wanna be sony? i hope the pro version is under $1000oh come on. enough with the ridiculous hyperbole already.
sony's flagships are pretty much where everyone elses are as far as price goes. every time sony's pricing is brought up it's talked about like the $1300 Xperia 1 III is this unrealistic pricing nightmare but the iPhone 12 Pro Max was $1100, the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G was $1200 and all they get is "it's a bit pricey" and it's forgotten about.
it's not like the Xperia was double the price or something. the $200 price difference between the three phones does not warrant the bizarre overreaction to Xperia pricing.

[deleted post]Well, this is what you get when phone cranks up ISO to make footage brighter.
        Texture is sacrificed.
Shutter speed remains faster to avoid blur.

All tools to make video worse.

The only interesting about this phone is the design and colours

Pixel will never be the hero on Android ever!!!

Anonymous, 08 Aug 2021Sony is the only one above $1000? If I am not wrong eve... morethey can say xperia 1 iii is better, idk how many will it sells but i found a lot people buying iphone 12 pro or galaxy s21 for their flagship (this is based in my city), what about pixel? pixel 4 was rare than 1 2 3, and i found used pixel 3 here is under $300. no want $700 with mid range chipset pixel 4.

YUKI93, 08 Aug 2021Pixel 5 with Snapdragon 765G chipset already cost $700 bran... moreyeah right, not suprised in my place they are very rare pixel 4 here. pixel 1 2 and 3 quite popular here, and pixel 3 used price was about under $300.

If I am not wrong even moto edge+ was €1200 last year.
Except USA, xperia is cheaper than iphone everywhere.
5ii was about 20% cheaper than 12 pro in europe.
1iii is cheaper than pro max in china, despite the $1500 tag for the 512GB.

Brands that sell more get better prices on components.
Even better prices if many components are chinese.
Zero chance a phone like Pixel 6 Pro can be sold for price of S21 when it is clearly better than 21+ , by huge margin.

rizki1, 08 Aug 2021hmm they wanna be sony? i hope the pro version is under $1000Pixel 5 with Snapdragon 765G chipset already cost $700 brand new, so I won't be surprised if the Pro version of the new Pixel, especially with a flagship-grade custom chipset, will cost the same as Sony Xperia 1 Mk3 or Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra or even the Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max.

While the Pixel 6 Pro sounds like a better variant than the vanilla Pixel 6 because of the 1440p 120Hz screen and 4x zoom telephoto camera, I much prefer the vanilla Pixel 6 because it has a flat screen and 1080p 90Hz is more than enough for me. After all, 4,600mAh+ battery capacity is still large enough in the first place.

I personally wouldn't say if the Pro's 4x zoom telephoto camera will make a difference in photography until the full review comes in. If that camera will allegedly have a 48MP sensor, that puts the Pixel 6 Pro in the same territory as the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra and the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra. A three-way shootout between those three will be great.

My issue will always be the same one: lack of expanded memory and headphone jack. It's weird because they could have gotten a giant package from Samsung with chipset, LTPO display, and AKG DAC (something Samsung clearly isn't using now) to bring out a solid phone with those features.

I know I-Blade cases exist but that shouldn't have to be the solution.

Anonymous, 08 Aug 20216 Pro is between $1000-1200. 6 is between $800-900. Everything will depend on whether it is worth paying those 1,200, if they come with more of the same, which you can find in other brands for 600 dollars then they will not sell many, the audience of the 2xl pixel is no longer the same as it is today

Phone Reviewer, 08 Aug 2021Google long term pixel strategy, launching a phone in only ... moreSelling in more markets equals to more costs.
What if sales are not enough to cover these costs?
This is why LG was losing all that money.
LG was basically in all markets, selling mostly K series.

                                    Google is not stupid.
Only samsung and apple can afford being everywhere right now.

Buying depends on price. Buying latest snapdragon is not so expensive in android and don't throw Chinese out of the picture. Consider them as main contenders then price accordingly. People definitely don't spend 1k on Android now..so price makes it work or brake

Since I learned that Tenor is a retouched Exynos, I am less and less interested, no doubt that it will be up to it but frankly it is less interesting. I wanted Google to make its own chip like Apple.
