After numerous updates, my S21 ULTRA still produces grainy images and often less good than the ones I would be able to take with the S9 +
And the main problem remains, the device heats up drastically. It is really not possible to touch the frame of the device because it is extremely hot. And this usually only happens with a light use of 5 minutes of photography
One big disappointment

I love my s10+ Getting rid of the sd card and headphone jack was the beginning of the end of my loyalty

Samsung lost me when they decided to release flagship models without SD card storage and headphone jacks.
Their mid tier phones have both of these features.
Truthfully how much additional cost should it add to a phone to incorporate them?

I am an owner of S21 and from day one this phone underperformed. The camera really sucked. So far there was four camera software upgrades. Photos is in really bad quality. The battery performance is not great. This phone was not cheap but is outperformed by much cheaper phones. I already had the phone booked in for repairs to the charger and the the ear pods fails all the time.

Sales dropped because it's overpriced, it's as simple as that.
And they didn't learn yet and are releasing the foldable phones with a ridiculous price.

Either in materials used or in performance of chipsets or number/quality of cameras or display or fingerprint sensor. It'll ALWAYS be something that has gone through compromises.

The first thing they should do is to fire whoever suggested to get rid of the micro SD slot. My guess is that it was also the same guy who suggested to get rid of the headphone jack.

Galaxy's have become too expensive. Never wanted an Iphone before, but seriously considering getting one since their flagship Max that is at least $500 cheaper than the S21 Ultra

I concur. I used note 10 exynos, heat is one thing and then the network issues is another. After some suggestions by another person. I bought the SD version of note 20, paid the tax to import and all. By so far it performed flawlessly, network performance is good, heat is reasonable. No problem with hot sunny day taking pictures. Now lets hope samsung didnt hamstring the phone on next update

Well its Samsung. They really thinked that making plastic phones with price tag of 200-700 bucks, 5G low end overheating phones, crappy exynos, no SD slot, No jack, No charger in box, bad UI with tons of bloatware and dual apps such as samsung internet and google chrome on same device for what sake???
And prices far greater than xiaomi gives.
This wouldnt work ever.
Just for example Poco M or X series cost way less than Samsung phones and are far more superior.
Same for Mi 11 lite 5G 300 to 400 bucks for a phone where samsung would sell exactly same thing for 500-700 bucks.

just get rid of all the old timers from top management to designers to engineers - put in a new team like one plus who is daring with fresh ideas and innovation coz at the moment Samsung is bode down by too holding on to power top management. also get rid of the stupid policy of 2 different processor for the same flagship phone coz if Samsung can't come up with chip as good as Apple why waste time - focus on other issues like how make the most interesting phone. get rid of the stupid mentality trying to copy apple in pricing.

I used to own the S9 and... moreI can't give you the direct link but lookup in YouTube : (1)S21 ultra SnapDragon vs Exynos and (2)S21 ultra teardown of thermal cooling used for SD vs Exynos - in (2) the guy swapped the cooling system between the two - SD was still cooler.
VERDICT : SD processor > Exynos crap. The same camera works BETTER on the SD; the list is endless.

Samsung has to many different series of phones. Several have no distinguishing features. They need to streamline their portfolio. They should also stop adulterating their flagship series IMO. Of course their prices need to drop considering all they don't provide in the phones.

Chinese manufacturers eventually win. Only if Samsung does agressive pricing and specifications. Samsung has played enough safe games, now give us real contender for Xiaomi mid range. M, ,F series can't compete. Reduce a series price by half. Then see the magic

Consumers are getting smarter and more educated samsung doesnt offer value atm for yearly upgrades. Their best phone was s10+ since then nothing major making consumers to upgrade

Im a S21 ultra (Exynos) owner.
I used to own the S9 and that phone is the reason why I decided to buy this flagship.
Not gonna compare as it's inappropriate.
But the newer models have lost a lot of hardware features. No more sensors to check blood pressure and heart rate, 3.5mm jack, SD card slot.
Anyway, this phone is a beast, in size, performance, specs and battery.
As a daily user experience, the 5k mah battery is not mind blowing for battery life. Just gives enough juice for the phone to run for a day (not 24 hours).
This phone has 4 amazing cameras.. but it heats very badly, has touched 48 degree Celsius indoors with camera app closing, stating phone too warm wait for it to cool.
Imagine outdoors on a warm sunny day.
I've missed to record several moments in life due to this flaw.
The back, the sides and the top half of the screen really heats very badly.
This is from the first day after purchasing it in March.
Got updates for 4 months and still no change.
This clearly shows a flaw in the hardware.
Watched tear down videos and there is hardly anything to support the cooling of the device.
So this is definitely going to affect the parts of the phone over time, such as the screen, battery.
So selling this phone is also going to be a problem.
Plus the pricing... this phone in India, costs more than than S20 ultra and the Note 20 ultra.
So the prices are reduced in other countries not here.
Atleast the Spen could have been cheap as the Note 20 ultra comes with it, with earphones, charger and a SD card slot and costs 1k lesser than s21 ultra.
So, the only way Samsung can continue to keep its customers who buy their flagship is by offering an exchange to upgrade the phone to another flagship being released in the future by minimum 70% price reduction for the exchange of s21 ultra.
This is the least they can do for the people who spent their hard earned money on a phone that ain't worth it.
The S21 ultra is simply a flaw of a phone with an expensive price tag from a renounced brand.
