Itll mostlikely melt the internals and explode! In your dreams it can beat a full blown Desktop CPU+GPU. Unless they design specifically for Desktop without power & thermal contraints then come at me again. Even the M1 Apple chips are just marketing that throttles hard!

It’s not a laptop computer where heat dissipates rather quickly. That’s why I said if you want to play demanding games, just use a console or PC.

The article ignores the fact the Qualcomm 898 has more processing power than most desktop processors. Qualcomm continues to pull farther ahead of Meditek.
The processor only runs hot when playing the most demanding games. Qualcomm's only competition is Apple.

And also by moving from scamsung foundry to TSMC foundry

You can use phone with SD888 or SD895 to cook your english breakfast without using an expensive gas.
Thats a very bright idea what to do with overheating phone.

Well that isn't good news. It would mean that Android Phone Manufacturers need to use better cooling technology for that flagship chipset (a combination of Liquid Cooling and Graphene Cooling would be a MUST instead of either). Phone Manufacturers underestimated the 888 and reduced their heat sink sizes for their new phones

Mobile Phones are thermal limited due to it not only being compact but sealed so improvements will be so so so a pipe dream! Or marketing ploy!

I think because its from samsungs design mainly the reason it runs hot. Its exynos does too even the earlier ones. I guess they should go back to TSMC.

noooo wasting my time waiting for 898 yet it still have heat trouble and bad peak sustained performance, then kirin 9000 or dimensity 1200 is my choice

Last year the naming scheme change because of the addition of the x1 core. The 5 became 8. The new processor will have the x2 core, it doesn't make sense for it to be call 895. But, it might not be the 898 either since, Qualcomm might want to change its naming scheme again with the change in architectures.
It's now arm v9!!

Samsung's 5nm nothing close to TSMC's 5nm.
Pixels density is 1.73Million transistors per mm2 on TSMC's 5nm and only 1.27Million on Samsung's
With such a difference, it's not normal both shouldn't have the same name!
