Qualcomm's upcoming Snapdragon 895/898 tests show 20% performance improvement

There is, however, a heat problem.

If the 888 successor wouldn't have better heat management, I'll just keep using 865/865+/870-powered phones until the Plus version of the 888 successor comes in. This really got me wondering on how TSMC manages to get their fabrication process right.

PorkHotdog, 13 Aug 2021Jesus 888 is already powerful enough. Just give us some pro... moreYes, I agree, I think we have reached a point that anything thats more than sd 865 is ridiculously useless in terms of daily usage.

Ridiculous, most of the cpu/gpu performance is wasted on most people most of the time, mostly playing games...
One second hic cup in cooling, that's yer chips burnt, stupidly over speced phones with battery destroying charge systems cos those extra 5 minutes saved charging phone are vital, lets folk pick their noses for 5 minutes longer.
Buy 3 x 895 powered phones, do yer bit for global warming, all that extra heat pumped direct to atmosphere helps keep us safe from an ice age..

This is due to demand of high graphics gaming...ppl want a dslr camera , sony Playstation 2 like gaming ,graphics like nvidia g30 all in a tiny mobile phone...but thats not possible, mobiles arent meant for gaming...for every other use u can even fulfil with midrange power efficient socs...most ppl dont do gaming..

It is them or TSMC, only these two companies can manufacture these advanced chips and they both have limited capacity. TSMC simply can't meet all the demand.

A14 also runs hot and throttles more than its predecessor so don’t hate the snapdragon 888/exynos 2100 due to its fabrication process. I think we are already near the high performance that we can get with passive cooling. Smarphone makers need to step up on how to cool their products.

These SoC's should be Overclocked in a gaming phone with powerful cooling. And a slightly regulated/restricted version in a flagship conventional device. The reason why I say this. Is because gaming phones are the only phones that are capable of handling and cooling perfectly the heat with SoC's.

For gaming superiority handsets... Heat is not an issue whatsoever.

At this point, I rather take SD870 or even older SD865.

Throttling, company needs to provide advance cooling system, cost will be higher, device more expensive. More heat, faster battery degradation.

Kirin is the most balance one, with ample battery life, long life even by using SuperCharge. Sad to see it has to go. I have no complains whatsoever experiencing it for the past 4 years.
