Pureview's 41MP sensor is useful for digital zoom when using normal 8-12MP resolution, I guess that's most likely why they make it so big. Who's gonna snap 38MP on a daily basis anyway?!

    why scale down?

author, please note this might be a 13MP cam scaled down to provide more resolved clarity for photos. also, worth investigating is whether this device emulates the pixel oversampling 'pureview' tech of nokia. (41MP cams aren't a must for pixel oversampling).

Newer chipsets save power so thats not a worry, but the display is a worry, ofcourse. I have Note 2 now and the battery is impressive when display is dimmed down, but when using a brightness that gets the best out of the Note 2 display the battery is not so impressive.

My other requirement is micro SD card slot.

Full HD, 2GB RAM, min 16GB internal storage, card slot, those are the most important for me. 2GB RAM really helps in some cases, its very appleish to say otherwise, as someone here already did.

Everything depends on the battery, it will be the first factor I'll be looking into. If the battery is smaller than 3000 mAh then I won't even read the rest of the specs. And I don't care about manufacturers' claims about "power saving" techniques etc.

Even with awesome specs, i'd never like to compaire against a single core WP for smoothness.
Sony skins do have a bit of lag, but nothing as bad as sence.4.2 and 4.3 will address that better

Great display but considering sony's track record it will probably have bad-mediocre battery life.... Which isn't good for a flagship phone

I hope this packs the new Exmor RS camera. I saw sample images of it and I think it can par or maybe better than the Lumia 920. The war of mobile cameras between Nokia & Sony (Ericsson) is not yet over! :D

I agree. I hope Sony do much better in 2013. I think sony has both originality and detailed thinking in their smart phone design. Sony just needs to design there version of an iPhone, amazing design, excellent quality and build, aswell as high tech hardware( FHD and Hd ips displays 4~6 inch displays using all of Sony's innovative tech like whitemagic etc). And of course exceptional support for firmware updates. Sony needs to up take everything what Apple and top android manufacturers Samsung and HTC and create the Apple iphone "xperience" on a xperia device. That's what we all want right? A reliable seamless and fast experience on our phones. Something that Sony or any android manufacturer need to do. If this is achieved by Sony with Google. A very enjoyable "xperience" can be made on android and xperia devices. If sony focus there man power more on phones they will have a better chance at being number 1! When you think about "Apple" I straight away think about the iPhone. Because of its successful debut years ago with the 1st gen iPhone. Apple obviously made it very clear that it was going to take the mobile phone market seriously. I conclude with this Sony is a company that offers a creative and different approach to design, without sony there probably wouldn't have been a iPhone. Sony need to take the mobile market seriously, the same way apple did. All I want is a android phone with the same fluid functionality of a iPhone, aswell as build and design something that sony has. Thanks r

The photos confirms great viewing angle, I guess its IPS. That's good then but I hope the display is big enough, let's say between 5 and 6. I have note 2 now and while the full HD of the yuga will improve readability over the note 2 I don't want much smaller than 5.5 inch.

There's so many to choose from for those who like small displays, we who like big displays and high res and fonts don't have any choice at all, and the note 2 is not too clear when the fonts get very small, since the special matrix used in this display does not support subpixel rendering on fonts like regular RGB LCD does. So I think Full HD is a requirement for displays above 5 inch. I mean, note 2 is very clear but there is room for improvement.

It won't help to bring out better spec hardware if you don't do something about the User interface.
Sony needs a serious UI overhaul. It's just plain boring, and flagships sometimes have UI lag, which is unacceptable. C'mon Sony, time for a makeover.
