And yes, it's ergonomics is built around being camera, and not smartphone, so poor argument.
Smartphone designers are smart - they are selling more than you need, and you buy it 🤑
3 same matrices with slightly different optics? Shut up and take my money! And monochrome please, it can't be done by standard matrix!

Will always have huge respect for the companies who are investing millions of $$ in new high-tech camera hardware.Unlike majority of smartphone brands who put all their faith in software witchraft.
How will it work, when will it be available, we'll see.Kudos to Oppo.👍

1/2.3" sensor, 1500mah battery, 3200 max effective ISO. 🤦
Added smartphone components to make it work, it will be 35mm thk minimum. You want to hold that thing whole day? We hold an actual camera just when want to use it, unlike smartphones that we spend almost all the time.
Ergonomics in design. Take note on that. Do you think all smartphone designer in the whole world is stupid? 🤦

Shui8, 19 Aug 2021Pocketable camera, continuous zoom with no bump? Show me.Canon PowerShot SX620 - 96.9 x 56.9 x 27.9 mm, 182 g (23% lighter) - no bump, 25x zoom, Wi-Fi, NFC.
If one will say that this is too thick - I have to mention that this fits my jeans pocket, but I don't have pockets long enough to fit 163mm Honor

I honestly wouldn't mind the phone being thick if I therefore have a camera that matches or even beats modern compact cameras. The bump just has to be executed well, so it doesn't get stuck everywhere

Anonymous, 19 Aug 2021You won't always capture 100% more light per time. For... moreAs you increase the % of photodiodes that lack colour filter, the light sensitivity increases.
For example: 32MP sensor with 50% of "white" pixels grabs more light than a 32MP (same size) that has 25% of "white pixels".
Looks like samsung is working on one with 108MP, where 92MP are "white", while 16MP are "RGB".

FarFan, 19 Aug 2021Than why pro grade cameras has one sensor, and you can have... moreCameras do not need to care much about space.
There are lenses that are as small as a cup.
But other are as huge as an arm.
Phones have limited space.
You cant slap a 1/1.2" sensor with periscope without making phone almost 30mm thick.
Remember Galaxy K Zoom? It is 24-240mm with sensor similar to sony Z phones.
Look how huge it is the zoom system.
As you increase sensor, system goes bigger as well.

If the main camera has an effective focal length of 25mm, 85-200mm means 3.4x to 8x zoom. Impressive for a telephoto camera, really looking forward to that. I'm also looking forward to Oppo's 5-axis OIS solution. I haven't seen that since the 2019 Sony Xperia 1 and 5. As for the RGBW Quad Bayer sensor, I wouldn't hold my breath to it since it all depends on Oppo's image processing algorithm.

Anonymous, 19 Aug 2021You won't always capture 100% more light per time. For... moreThat's true, actually. On top of that I just realised that I was only thinking about the amount of light that passes through the filter and not the light photosites will be able to capture (white pixels saturate faster unless their sensitivity is set lower than RGB pixels). I guess the actual calculation wasn't really that simple after all.
