Good luck copying 3D sculpture of a face you can't just pick up from a device itself. You leave fingerprints all over the phone itself. If one would like to break into your phone it's easier to fool the fingerprint scanners given that keys (fingerprints) for it are literally next to it. With exception of Samsung's ultrasonic scanners that detect physical ridges of fingerprint which even if you have a fingerprint is much harder to fabricate a print because it has to physically be a relief and not just contrast difference between ridges and grooves as done by standard scanners. Yeah, we totally don't know what we're talking about :rolleyes:

[deleted post]I'm not, I use a Google Pixel. I have a few Xiaomi and one Realme phone with UD fingerprint and the Realme one is the best, but none of them compare to an always on dedicated capacitive fingerprint sensor.

Fingerprint sensors expect that you don't wear gloves, don't have damp hands, have a lot of patience to touch, touch again. That's why fingerprint sensors are cheap and that's why only a few phone makers can do secure Face ID, one of which is Apple.

The reason Samsung never wanted an optical sensor in a flagship phone? It's okay for cheap phones, it's just not worthy of anything costing a grand. It's too easy to trick and it's inconsistent.
